I am looking forward to (what I will call) this "Jita Raid" from the Goons. Yeah, it will **** a lot of people off, but so does disco ships in the Jita undock. But if Goons do this right, it could mean increased business in the other trade hubs and possibly a spread of wealth through most of Empire space, just because Jita won't be safe for business.
Yeah, Goons will get a fair few kills (and I am hoping some funny ones), but the benefits that could be possible do have me interested (could mean people are less interested in a "main" trade hub too, due to security risks like this).

I would expect you to know mechanics better. I mean aren't you guys meant to be pro anti-pirates? Removing concord from the grid as nothing to do with avoiding consequences, a new spawn appears and kills you (or the old one returns from wherever you moved it). It is merely the way to remove concord spawns from previous attacks or which have been deliberately spawned by others for protection. It actually makes the mechanic work as intended as instead of an unrelated concord spawn instakilling you it reverts to the normal concord response time.


I think this is actually a great mechanic btw, both being able to spawn concord for protection and move it away. As pizi rightly says any attack on Jita will probably end up in a race between spawners and movers.

That being said, Mittens has the support of his Alliance, where as the guy he targeted doesn't have that sort of backup...so I think he is just doing what he can to try to handle the situation. Even if it is ill-advised attempts.


Well he really is in a tricky situation and I would not want to switch. He probably should see it from the bright side...he is part of what will probably become the grief of the millenia! Front row....not everybody can say that...here is something for his car bumper sticker (as reality seems to fuse with eve here) :

mittani, you are one of the rare but true assholes I have virtually met my life. hope you have a miserable life in your 30days temp ban. looking forward to see your **** loads of tornados in jita, violating the EULA - "grief play". curious how CCP will react to that. another proof of endless love like the temp ban instead of a well deserved perma ban? who knows.

Hmm, pretty insulting post there mate, you angry? And ganking people isnt griefplay, attacking a hisec system isnt griefplay, destroying your little empire isnt griefplay.

Using language like you do in a public forum may be considered griefing, particularly as it insinuates that The MIttani should suffer in real life, most certainly if it was directed at me I would petition you.

Isn't a violation of the EULA since it is not directed at any player that will prevent them having an enjoyable experience. Jita is one system out of how many? It is surrounded by other highsec that traders can work with. Any Jita siege would be extremely tough to prolong. CCP has advanced notice, there is TiDi etc and a month advance notice. How the players themselves act individually is the only thing that would really violate any clause.

However, should CCP say don't do this, or that it violate rules. That is a precidence that in the end would result in the complete loss of the sandbox that makes eve interesting. If highsec stayed truely isolated, the whole game would stagnate and just wilt.

Yeah, true. Gotta hand it to him though, considering what he has been up against, he has help himself pretty well. Yeah, it could have been avoidable, but he is doing ok with the hand he was dealt. As for the bumper sticker...I want one Sad

One thing a lot of us seem to get mixed up (inc myself) is it is not just the EULA, but rather the ToS (Terms of Service) that has rules regarding players actions. EULA is more about what you do with CCPs "property" (the game).
EDIT - It isn't griefing since we have had advanced warning. I've already moved my sales elsewhere. So should anyone else who doesn't want to get caught with their pants down.

That being said, as much as I hate a lot of the crap Goons pull (although, sometimes it is pretty damn funny, just not in this instance) even I would think that perma-banning Mittens is a bit much.

Advanced warning has nothing to with it, It isn't griefing because its completely normal standard eve play.

Being an antipirate we rarely have the need to get rid of CONCORD; even though our RoE allows suicide ganking reds there's usually better targets to be found. Twisted Anyhow, I wasn't actually paying too close attention to what mechanic was being discussed, read carelessly, and thought it was about avoiding. My bad.
