Launcher downloads and installs patch when client is run I get this or something very similar to this (now at work unable to access system for more accurate details but seems to be same problem):

Upon running repair tool am informed that a new version is available, as this is downloaded it locks my system up completely and have to reboot. Updated repair tool can be found in appropriate directory but fails to run and locks system up again.

These are mine 0 to 25 infinite loop.

The data corruption issue is likely related to SPI filtering in your router or an AV / Firewall security package running on your computer which does protocol filtering. Try disabling them, download a new version of the repair tool, drop it into your Eve directory, and run it from there.

CCP is aware of this issue and they have yet to take any real action to fix it. Hopefully this is a easy fix for you.

It must be the router since the same AV/Firewall software runs on my laptop whether I'm in the office or not, and I have no problem patching out of the office. I hope CCP's interest leads to a fix, as I could patch just fine at work before 1.5.

This could be related to proxies, but I cannot confirm it at this stage.
If you could submit a bug-report at bugs.eveonline.com with the launcher.log file attached, I could use that in our ongoing investigation.

Done. Report ID is 131002.

CCP Nestor, why did you ask me to create a bug report when it was just going to be filtered and the issue not fixed? Here I am again, back at work where patching used to work before Crucible 1.5, AND IT'S STILL NOT WORKING. If CCP was trying to come up with the perfect way to **** off their clientele they couldn't have done a better job. Bugs happen. I get it. But it's how you deal with them that counts. And so far this is the worst customer service response I've ever had.

still having problems with the launcher failing to install the patch, (same problem as the poster above)

None of the workarounds work. The repair tool does nothing

Please give us a link where we can download the patch file and install manually

This isn't an issues perse, but it would be great if oyu coudl give the launcher an option to peroidically check for updates, rather than just when it is launched. if this should already be happening, then thisis def in the right place

Having problems starting the game.

The game informed a patch is ready to be downloaded, I proceeded to download it.

After finishing the download, it started the patching/downloading progress..... got error message at the end.

I'm assuming I need to go and download 4.5GB again.

So... is this a new feature of the game?, prevent me from playing it so that I'll want to play it even more!

yeah...sure.. all this makes me want to jump all over that "Power of 2 Offer" real quick.

Received this error when attempting to run the repair tool. I did a new install of EVE from Steam, patching 273475 to 356445. OS is Win7 x64.

This is so frigging annoying. Daily patches, daily reminders of how incompetent CCP is.

I can verify now the original issue is now resolved with the Steam client. Works beautifully now.

Is it just me or is anyone else finding that all of the links on the Launcher will only open IE with a blank page. My problem with this is twofold...

One,each and every one of the links except [PLAY] are dead and will only open a blank IE page.

Two, IE is not my browser of choice and there should be a way to change this.

There's a fix incoming for this, that is in testing on Sisi at the moment.

Hello there, returning player here
I too am having many issues with the installation. After finally installing the game (downloading it all manually), the launcher ceases to work. Unlike some issues seen here, I have been able to use the direct EVE.exe to play. However, I won't be-able patch the game when necessary and this is clearly a problem.

Repair doesn't work.

For your information and hoping to shed some light on a fix, I am able to provide a fresh launcher cache file after trying to open the launcher for 1 cycle. I am not a programmer, but here's a snippet of something that might be of interest.

ReaderError: 'utf8' codec can't decode byte #x8b: invalid start byte

Here's the log file:

Launcher.log

This is due to the data coming back from a lookup being compressed. There's a fix for this currently in testing on Sisi.

Hi there, just started having some errors today.

Launcher Error

When I try to run the repair.exe, I get this lovely error in the log file:

Repair.exe Error

I have no clue what to do.

I'm looking into this issue, to try and reproduce it locally.

Having an issue with downloading the patch, keep getting this

The update was downloaded but it failed verification indicating that the file is corrupt. Would you like to download the file again?

You will not be able to enter the game until you download the update.

any help?

You bugs are back... I have to download over 4GB again, reset all my settings, etc.

will this be a weekly thing?... Since it does take time for me to download over 4GB, I'm now at 7 days of non playable days.

Don't know if you guys know how to do the math, but that is 25% of a month.

Not happy.

Why do you have to reset all your settings? If you're redownloading, for whatever reason, and installing into the same location, why destroy your settings?

Not really a 'issue' per say, but something I find annoying. When I open a second client, the splash screen always shows up on top of my current open eve screen, blocking the view of whatever I am doing in game. I used to let the second client open in the background so I could log in the details when I had a free moment to do so, as multiple clients tends to make my laptop run a bit hot. Now I have to anticipate how many clients to open and have them waiting in the background, heating up the PC, in case I want to use them without losing visuals on the game during the splash screen loadup.

Are we getting our skills point reimburse due to unable to log in with our skills queue ended? We paid for those skills aint we not. This is not the case where --->Good sold is not refundable. Its not the customer fault or thier PC or their Network or their moms preventing em playing MMO.
