CCP didn't mark "The Wis", Mittens did in his post!

Though I have received many letters of support (my inbox is full of these, and for them I thank you) and the major bloggers have called for me to remain on as Chair, there are still some who doubt the sincerity of my apology to the player concerned, who - unlike those attempting to make hay from my mistake - is the person that matters here. I said that I would resign; to demonstrate the sincerity of my words and my apology, I will do just that.

This paragraph is the first from Mittani's stepping down post. Read it carefully. He's basically trying to say that even though EEVVEEERRYYYOONE wants him to stay and remain as chairman, it is all the fault of "The Wis" that he has to step down for doubting the sincerity of his apology.

This is why people doubted his sincerity to begin with! He gets up and makes douche moves like this which are designed to make life even harder for this guy. Was it really not enough to do what he did at Fanfest? Now he has to paint a giant bullseye on the guy's head, as well?

Awesome job, Mittens. I'll give you this: when you do something you don't do it half assed. You wanted this guy's life to be a living hell, and even in your "apology" you've continued to push that agenda. And lemme tell ya, it seems you've succeeded greatly.

not at all he don't sound sincere, it was all a play to convince others that he is also victimized and not the offender.
in his goonion speech he too blames other parties for getting himself in his current situation.

His only crime in that quoted post was implying that he checks his evemail.

The Wis was marked by Atrum Veneficus who posted the evemail chain on the goonfleet forums and the juicy excerpts to SA. The Wis was marked by the goon who crossposted Atrum's forum post to the Ice Interdiction thread on kugutsumen.com with obvious intentions.

So for 5 months the scum of eve has been aware of The Wis, of his name, his naivety and his vulnerable mental state.

It's a pity that The Wis hasn't harmed himself during these five months and that thus Atrum Veneficus will probably never have to answer for his despicable actions.

He didn't think of the consequences his gloating might have - and the lack of actual consequences is no reason to let him off the hook for this. In a just world he should be impaled and flayed for this (strictly in-game of course).

by the way did I mention that his character name is Atrum Veneficus?

He didn't resign to demonstrate the sincerity of his words. He resigned because it would help Goonswarm. The evidence is in my signature.

And there is a problem with this?

He still expressed that he doesn't believe what he said was a good thing and that he is apologetic for it. What do you want to do, crucify him? He said he was sorry, gave the victim compensation, get over it. Only he can know if he was sincere in his apology, and who cares if he was or wasn't.

You're flat out lying. He's talking about blabbermouths like you, not The Wis. He specifically refers to "those attempting to make hay" - ie: you.

You're milking this incident to get at someone you perceive as your opponent in a game; you quite clearly don't give a rats ass about The Wis. If you did, you'd be the one apologising for continuing to use him and his troubles in this meretricious post of yours.

but you won't because you don't care one tiny bit about him.

Where? He is addressing the people who are sending him messages to tell him not to resign, and instead of ignoring these people he is responding to all of them in a public manner. What I see is someone trying to take something positive that he is doing to counteract an idiotic thing that was said, and twist it to make him look even worse than he is already.

People like you make me sick.

I don't see how that is relevant, unless you are implying that Mittens is a sociopath?

If he was a sociopath he would not have apologized at all. A sociopath could fake an apology, but there is no evidence that his apology is anything but genuine. How people "feel" is not an acceptable way to judge, especially over the internet where there are no body language or tonal cues into a person's true intention.

He only apologized because there was a media storm 4 days after. Even if he is truthful and blacked out due to his own inability to observe responsible drinking practices, I absolutely refuse to believe that nobody... NOBODY told him about what he did or said until 4 days later. I've blacked out before in my younger years, and every time I would ask what happened. I refuse to believe he was not told about the result of his clearly - CLEARLY premeditated actions before Monday. It is my staunch opinion that he knew - one way or another - about his actions before the media storm swelled, and he only apologized because of it - not because he actually felt true remorse for his actions, but because he brought righteous fury to himself and Goonswarm.

He claimed he resigned to demonstrate the sincerity of his words. His letter to Goonswarm proves otherwise. This simple fact alone proves his words were not sincere

I think the fact that you think that lolgoons benefitted from this apology is amusing and absurd. It wouldn't have mattered one iota if he apologized or not, he could have still done what he does best, lead the biggest group of griefers in EVE. From that standpoint I can't see any benefit that he gained from doing this, other than people sympathetic to his side from the poo-flinging that is now occuring from his opponents, like myself. I'm certainly not going to assist him in any way in EVE, or in real life as I don't know him, but I still think it's commendable that he apologized without any sort of benefit from it.

I don't disagree with the fact that his resignation benefits goonswarm, but again since you have little evidence you cannot state that it was the prime reason he resigned. Perhaps his ulterior motive was to resign to show remorse and he is merely placating his goons? I know I've done it in real life situations where I feel guilt over doing something, make up for it and then attempt to brush it off to save face with my less compassionate friends. Did he do that? I cannot say, that would make me like you, making baseless assumptions.

He doesn't answer to you, or anyone else on this forum. He wasn't compelled to make this apology by any sort of court of law or CCP, and he stood to gain no benefit from a standpoint in EVE, but he did it anyway.

No, You people marked him. Whilst I firmly am agaisnt what he said, if it had been left alone unremarked, it would never have come to light. Now CCP have to report him to authorities as a suicide risk, think he will be happy about that? Think he likes teh spotlight you have dragged him and his 22 (22!!) accounts into?

I doubt he is thanking you right now, but then that wasnt what all this rightous indignation was all baout, it was about the fat you hate your impotence against what The MIttani leads. That is what this is about.

Trust me, I almost know what I'm doing.

Actually, exactly THIS happened:

http://pastebin.com/B7HCtBUE
Mittani isn't sorry. He's just sorry that he got caught.
He didn't step down because of his actions. He stepped down to benefit Goonswarm.
He didn't apologize because he meant it. He apologized to save face.

Say NO to CCP-EA.
