He's been cynically exploited as a pawn in other people's political machinations and I fear he is going to suffer from a huge backlash because of it. I hope you guys keep your eyes on his situation.

Using directly? No.

I'm suggesting they are monitoring, as they have already stated. There is an open investigation, anyone dumb enough to attack him / contact him deserves anything they have coming.

Dunno what there isn't to understand, as opposed to the plethora of things one could imagine.

If I saw him I'd totally suicide gank him. Not because I harbour any ill feelings towards him or care about Mittens, but because he's now a well known person and a delicious killboard statistic.

Any banning due to ganking The Wis would be bullshit at best.

...and that's exactly what this topic is about.

The Wis shouldn't have to fear repercussions of any sort because his mental condition at the time he was ganked by GSF was pretty much made public.

But hey, it's your ban, feel free to make yourself a target for the GMs. Just don't come crying on the forums because of it. Or do. Someone may get a kick out of it.

I totally agree with the OP and hope that they have fully carried out their plan of action in such situations and informed the authorities in whatever country The Wis comes from, he looks as though he needs to be on some 'at risk' list and be given a social worker or something to work him through his troubled time. I think in some areas of the world suicidal people like him are taken into hospitals until they are deemed to not be a risk to themselves. I am glad we have such a caring community here to have posted so many times by so many people that this gentleman is at serious risk to himself.


CCP, make sure this happens, it is after all what you say you do when a suicide alert is made.

Trust me, I almost know what I'm doing.

"Som man bäddar får man ligga" (translation: "The way you make your bed, that's how you'll sleep.") is a Swedish proverb that I think suits this situation perfectly. While I too think that The Mittens actions are inexcusable (not defending them in any way) I think people are forgetting that it was The Wis himself who provided the information, and I think he mostly have himself to blame. If you are stupid enough to tell someone in EVE about your RL-issues you need also to understand that this information could be exploited somehow. Not saying that it's acceptable in any way but it could happen.

I don't see either to why people who suicide gank him should be banned as they are only doing things within the game. Is it bullying? Maybe, but they are still doing it within the game. If CCP really wants to fix this mess all they should do is just asking The Wis if he wants them to change his name. No more, no less.
