History just repeats over and over.

GOON remember when BOB was in your position, the game was of course a few years younger, looks like you became exactly what you hated. OR maybe you didn't really dislike BOB and allies, maybe there were legit intentions to destroy them, maybe there were not.

Either way, your alliance and coalition are now experiencing something called...

KARMA
1.Hinduism, Buddhism . action, seen as bringing upon oneself inevitable results, good or bad, either in this life or in a reincarnation: in Hinduism one of the means of reaching Brahman. Compare bhakti ( def. 1 ) , jnana.
2.Theosophy . the cosmic principle according to which each person is rewarded or punished in one incarnation according to that person's deeds in the previous incarnation.
3.fate; destiny. Synonyms: predestination, predetermination, lot, kismet.
4.the good or bad emanations felt to be generated by someone or something: Lets get out of here. This place has bad karma.

OP has a point, you reap what you sow. Goons have been doing the "us against them" for a long time. Recruitment scams, ice miner bashing, meta-game BS all over the place. Once upon a time they were heroes, going after the arrogant top of the heap, then they became the arrogant top of the heap. I feel badly for the individuals in goons, but the organization, I've no sympathy.

This letter from Mit, assuming it is authentic, cheapens what seemed to be a sincere apology; now goons run off into another one of their games, justifying all the bad things people say about them. Not very wise, take your punishment like a man, not a spoiled little brat.

Most of all, I do not like the bad attention it gives to Eve and CCP who have done a good job a turning things around.

If you believe in karma, then you're saying that anyone who got shat on by goons somehow deserved what they got?

Post with your monkey.

Reminds me of Citizen Kane.

The Goons started out as an idealistic group of young players rebelling against the corrupt system, only to become part of that same system, and holed up in their luxurious stretch of space with a giant sign that says No Trespassers.

That seems like a bit of a misjudgement to me. He has apologised, donated ISK, resigned, been removed from the CSM and had a 30 day ban issued. But he is going to keep on playing the game. Think it through...

What is the role of Goonswarm in EVE Online? They are the villains; the mega corp that is so successful they are reviled by just about everyone. Their candidate was just removed from the Council of Stellar Management by CONCORD. What would you have them do? Sit back, pop a cold one and laugh about it?

It is logical in the context of EVE Online for Goonswarm and The Mittani to come back and take their vengeance on the commercial heart of the Empire; to take the fight to CONCORD and their minions.

I'm loving this. The out of game issue is dealt to, we can now keep on playing EVE Online. I hope CCP takes this ball and runs with it; make the stations in Jita destructible and change the face of trading in EVE completely. Wipe out the trading nest in Empire. See trade consortiums destroyed. It will be incredibly immersive for the game.

What goes around comes around?
What's good for the goose is good for the gander?
Cause and effect?
Yin and Yang?

I can't believe real life is finally making its mark on this place.

Karma:

EVE "pubbies" did not want to ruin the game, they just wanted to ruin Goons' game.

Yes, and in between all that he tried to limit his resignation to the chair and keep his seat on the CSM. Shows a lot of that sincerity.

I'm with Ai Shun on this, I read that post by Mittens, as a player he wishes this hadn't happened and realises that his actions were not what would be expected of the CSM chair.

What he says about not being able to be the CEO of GSF and the CSM chair at the same time is right, he can't wear both hats and do them as well as she should. He's roleplaying the character now, and the Mittani is a vindictive, petty, spiteful character, as are many goons.

He's giving EVE what it needs, he's pulling something from the wreckage, dusting it off and has seen the opportunity to make something from this debacle. Time for some fun.

None of those things other than cause and effect are real things. They are things that the powerful tell the downtrodden so they will always think that theirs is "Just around the corner".

The truth is: The Rich get Richer and sociopaths or people that can train themselves into that mindset make the best CEO's.

Just about every successful nullsec alliance leader is a complete and utter berk. There is a reason for that.
