CSM: Alternates

CCP had prepared for a contingency in-which a CSM member resigns. And lets be clear, he has resigned, he was not removed from the CSM. This is why there are CSM alternates. An alternate should be placed into the vacant CSM spot, and the members will decide upon a chairman amongst themselves.

I understand that the masses of Goonswarm are quite angry over this decision but you do not get to change the system because It didn't happen to work out in your favor. Your rage and tears appear to outsiders to be support for his actions, actions that he himself felt ashamed of.

Place an alternate in the vacant spot, and lets move on with civility please.

You should reread what he wrote. He resigned from the the chairmanship, for good reasons. His 'forfeit' from the CSM is a marketing weasel trying to spin the fact that they kicked him out with no public insight for monetary gain.

No, he was kicked.

And there's no alternates.

Don't post here.

I agree, replace him under our guidlines and move on. A chairman should guide the meeting and facilitate its work rather than direct it. I hope they pick a chairmen and replacemnt that has less political aims and more concern for the betterment of EVE as a whole.

I basically agree with you. It is time to move on using the tools and rules we have.

Although, you are wrong about him resigning from the CSM, as others have pointed out he only resigned the chairmanship. He was removed from the CSM by CCP by their judgment that there was a EAULA/TOS violation worthy of banning, which made him ineligible to serve on the CSM.

Further confusing things, they (CCP) changed makeup of the CSM, eliminating the alternate positions, without updating the white paper. All fourteen were full members of the CSM. The top seven get sponsored to attend the summits.

So by my reading, the whole remaining CSM right down to Darius gets to vote on which CSM is made chair out of all the remaining members. Slight awkwardness if someone not in the remaining top seven is elected chair but isn't offered a plane ticket to Iceland for the summit, but that's the way things seem to sit at the moment. I am sure they will work things out.

Sadly for Korvin, CCP has said the removal of Alex means that the CSM will function with one less member, so they apparently aren't bumping him up into the CSM.

The only end-game content in EVE Online is the crap that makes you rage quit.
