I might agree with you if this had to do with the CSM, but it doesn't so the "absolute minimum" he needed to do was apologize, if he personally felt responsible to do so. If he had said every word he said in Jita local to an audience of 1500+, no one would have blinked an eye about it. In the end this was The Mittani saying something about The Wiz (or whatever his name is) with regards to EVE at an EVE event. He didn't find and give everyone his real name and address, he didn't mail him anthrax, he didn't even say "Good, kill yourself." The panel show was how people react to our actions in game. You can try to say he's a representative of the player base, but that doesn't mean that he needs to have infinite love and respect for what people say over the internet. (For the non-goons in the audience, he's the third person in recent memory that mentioned self-harm after losing their assets. We hear it often enough by people who want stuff back from scams/want sympathy for losses.) In American politics you do not need to love and agree with the religious right to run as a left-leaning democrat.

What we are seeing is people who despise goons writing the most eloquent posts they have in years trying to close the deal with his stepping down, while goons and allies ask, "What does it have to do with the politics of EVE?" and independent-minded people (including most of the CSM who actually know him) saying, "You can (and sometimes say should) apologize, but don't step down because you've brought good changes about."

OP, there is no place in real life (or Eve) for this sort of attitude to someone's real life and death problems. A simple apology is not enough. This requires actions, not words, so I hope you get the message and we either never see your like in Eve again or we see a very different person.

Relevant enough to get name-checked as one of the people your ex "king of space" chose to rage against on EN24 it seems. Must sting that he knows my name in a way he will never know yours.

He has apologised, donated his ISK and resigned as CSM chair. He has also been removed from the CSM and had a 30 day ban issued.

The actions are there.

i see the apology but dont believe it, if you can come out with the crap you did then you mean it, dont speak what you think then try back chatting because you suddenly realise what you have said. You are scum your words are scum and a 30 day ban is pish, and i know there will be the usual goon that post replies saying how great you are and how much a wanker i am but that is goon and i dont care a sod for them. I just hope you hang your head in shame and fook of.

Those are all passive acts: ISK isn't real; the CSM chairmanship is ephemeral and a 30 day ban is not harsh. Do you really think that the victim in this is going to recover from their illness with some ISK and the knowledge that their tormentor will be gone for just 30 days ? What I was getting at is the need to see a change in the OP's actions in future.

You sir, have regained my respect, and then some. People taking responsibility like that is not something I see every day, and I respect it a lot.

Welp, this obviously only leaves me one course of action... pick up a Tornado BP and start cranking them out in Amarr, and possibly start looking into building freighters..
