Lvl2 Blockade webifier vs Thrasher

Ok, so, I took a L2 mission - probably too soon. However, I'd like some advice on dealing with an accursed webifier tower that has significant range (L2 blockade mission).

How do I deal with the tower? Putting a microwarp doesn't seem to help much as I still get overwhelmed. I have (unfortunately) only T1 fittings - if the solution is T2 to help tank or something, I'm open to suggestions.

I seem to recall BM'ing the tower and warping to the BM at my desired range. Its been a loooong time since I have done a mission, much less an L2, though so not sure this still works.

Nerfing High-sec is never the answer. It is the question. The answer is 'YES'.

Thanks. I thought about warping to 0, but bookmarking and taking out the tower didn't come to mind. Hopefully that'll work. Then, I can design a fit to take the tower down ASAP, warp out, and come back with a tankier fit.

Seems a good plan!

Webbing towers are a case of ~awesome~ CCP iterative development. Before 2009, webs used to slow down ships by 90% instead of the current 50-60%, but ships also moved much faster back then. Now our ships are slower but still affected by 90% webs.

Try the warping trick above, and if it doesn't work (if the mission is in deadspace), then you'll just have to ship up to a bigger ship that can take the tower out from range.

Have fun!

Yeah, that's what I'll try to do.

On a related note, is there a way that players can mutually group up for a specific mission? I suppose the danger there lies if one player decides to let the other die miserably. lol.

Anyway, if two players have the same mission, can they join forces?

Don't take my word on it, because I'm not 100% sure, but if 2 players have the same mission, all you have to do is form a fleet with them and complete the mission cooperatively and both should get mission completes.

Try using arties and long range ammo to snipe it before you get too overwhelmed by the NPCs.

Try Damsel in Distress then. You have to turn in one damsel that you rescued. If there are two of you, how many damsels will you get in the can once you destroy pleasure garden structure?

It's not like WoW, you don't "share" the mission. One player has the mission, and other players are free to assist them. When they turn it in they have the option of splitting the rewards with their fleet, they can choose not to as well. If you BOTH get the same mission, you need to do both deadspace pockets.

This

To the OP, train for a cruiser. Ask a friend/corpmate to join fleet or one of the earlier supposed things you can try.

Agree with Dato, fit some small artillery and pop the tower from range. In fact, I only fit artillery on my Thrasher given the bonuses.

don't warp to 0 as the tower is not right next to the warp in spot. Try warping in at 20

If that doesn't work, you can warp at 100, then turn around and flee but you draw all the ships with you. Let them chase you for a while then warp out and come right back. Now with all the ships 80K away from you, you have time to slow boat to the tower and kill it. This takes forever though.

that web tower is pain the ass I agree

Tell it to Saul, he is the one who does not know that when two chars have same mission, both missions have to be done.

Thanks for the extra info! :D

Yeah, I'll try the warp far away, pull the baddies, warp out, warp in at 20 and then blastify the tower. I'll factor in doing it twice if I group up with another player that has it as well.

I'll try an arty destroyer to take out the tower after drawing them away for a bit. Thanks again all!

Two players never have to same mission. But they can join forces regardless. Just help someone with his mission and next you do your mission. It is more effective for missions until you hit the point when you can do L4s solo.

Furthermore, when in fleet you can share the rewards when completing a mission with your fleet, this includes: Standing, ISK, and LP. So again, there is no need to have the same mission.
