Madison, WI.

0.6 in the "bad" parts of town, most of that is theft and drug-related. Downtown is around 0.8 since we're the state capital and also there's the UW-Madison students and the resulting revenue to protect. Pretty low crime in general for a city of less then 250,000, I think we had 5 murders in 2011. Most crime is petty alcohol-related offenses, this being Wisconsin.

Chicago, we're like one of those border areas, I work in 1.0, I live in a 0.7, I have lived in 0.1-0.4 though depending on the neighborhood. I have definitely traveled through some 0.0 though here.

about a week ago, I would have said about .7-.8. but in the last week there have been 3 break ins, 5 cars stolen, and the police station down the street closed,and all this within a block of an elementary school. I would put it around .3-.5.
