If posts on an internet forum that are not directed anywhere in your direction offend you on such a deep level then you should probably step away from the game and evaluate the way you spend your time.

I don't know you at all Sir, but I have known many people in eve in the time I've played this game and sometimes people go through bad patches of depression and sometimes they help other people through those times. Early on playing this game I realized it was more than space pilots shooting the heck out of each other and we were building very real communities here and it impressed me a lot.

I've know guys who lost their jobs were homeless for a while only to come back to eve years later and be astonished to find their online friends welcomed them back like nothing happened. I've known soldiers who have been to war and gotten back to worlds where nothing made sense except the fictional universe of new eden and the corporate identities they'd helped to forge. I've known young people going through depression and old guys treating this game as family when their rl contacts were very far away and through it all we've had something binding us together which is this shared interest in the game and notion of the community we have built here.

Why I'm I saying all this to you Wis, because I understand how sad it can seem when one's fantasy world turns nasty and stops being a release from the real life woes we all like to escape for one reason or another some times.

And though I don't know you, have never spoken to you in game, probably would never have come to know you if it weren't for this scandal with Alexander Gianturco what I can say is that you and I are both Eve players and part of the same community and for that I wish you well and somehow consider you a part of this far flung virtual family of players in the universe of new eden.

I hope what you take from all this is that people do actually give a damn and that Alexander Gianturco's way of playing Eve and humiliating RL players for his personal amusement is NOT the way of Eve that the rest of us believe.

I strongly felt that CCP "got it" at fanfest when they talked of the bonds of friendship behind the struggles and brutality of conflict in space. I think a lot of players "get it". Its just a shame when the CSM chair of the player led council doesn't "get it" doesn't care to "get it" and is acting in a way obviously contrary to the notion of community in Eve online.

Anyway, just thought I should say some words and who knows, would be nice to share a drink at fanfest one day.

U got my full support mate! I fully agree - what goes on in Eve is part of the game (hat of to all you scammers, thieves and pirates) But taking that to RL and asking others to provoke an actual suicide??? Thats not just illegal, thats is wrong.
Would surprice me if the anti-gaming wing will use this story if they get wind of it.... and then we can all kiss Eve good buy as they kill it with age bans, content bans, enforced censorship and all that crap.
