It's pretty clear that, at the very most, he's going to be stepping down from the chairman position while staying on the CSM

how does that make you feel jade?

Gratified since thats precisely what I said he should do when this scandal began.

Its only right he apologises for his drunken mistake but its not his falt you are taking his joke as a serious call to kill someone.

I watched the tape. It didnt sound like he was joking.

I think that says more about you than him.

Its on tape. And I dont have to accuse him of anything, he admitted it.

Why would i be proud of this at all. I shouldnt even have ever had to think about this being a thing I would have to worry about in EvE online. That someone at a live event would tell people to harass someone till they kill themselves.

Thats why its so sick.

And even sicker the people defending and trying to spin it away.

The line in the sand was drawn. Pick a side.

I'll pick the side of sanity and not rabid hyperbole and overreaction, thanks. Have fun over there, though.

We have a tape of a bad joke, last in a night full of similar bad jokes.

Mittani NEVER admitted he was trying to seriously make ANYONE kill themselves. Stop lying.

I'll pick my side to be the one of common sense based on the entirety of the video evidence, not hysterical witch hunts based on a sound byte, thanks.

Don't you get it? That's what these idiots want.

No, it's not. Well, not, if I am counted among the idiots (reported for flaming, btw).

I think I'll make a separate post about it, but what I want is an EVE where scamming, baiting, blobbing, ganking, trapping, and using clever tricks is still allowed, where we can have PR wars and gloat on locals about how wonderful players we are, and where there is no guaranteed safety and total opt-out of pvp. I also want an EVE where it is not acceptable behavior to point and laugh when someone is obviously RL upset about losing, to use stage time in a CCP event to humiliate and berate your rivals rather than talk about what you do well, or to flame people on the public forums, and where racist/sexist/homophobic slurs are grounds of immediate warnings and bans.

I do not see those as contradictory. I doubt most of the community does.

Well apparently flaming, mocking, humiliating people using any means at your disposal including racist/sexist/homophobic slurs are fine, so is political meta-gaming, as according to one goon we are all "Peers" however if it is directed at a Goon then it a evil and horrible thing to do.

You are implying that this issue is subjective. To you it didnt sound like a joke, to many other people here it did. If this matter is subjective, which you have implied, then it is not as black and white as you have spent many hours making it out to be. As it is subjective, not black and white, or blue for that matter, lets just wait for CCP to make a decision.

Well, it was a reaaaally bad joke. One that could be (and obviously has been) misinterpreted as truly malicious intent.

It was a screw up and he knew it. It in no way indicates that he sincerely wanted the man to die.

They're not. They're committing faux outrage in an attempt to seize on what they feel is a perceived weakness of Mittani and Goonswarm. Specifically, note that the outrage of this didn't happen until AFTER the CSM7 results came out. This is a manufactured scandal born from the anti-Mittani, anti-Sandbox elements of the game.

That's why we haven't seen any feedback from CCP from this. They literally don't give a flying ****.

None of you clearly saw the world of darkness interview about permadeath as its no different to this.

noone is talking about ingame things, thats only you

the event happend outside of game , thats the problem

Ok clever dude, did he give a real name? No. Is it any different to 95% of the bad posters on kugu or any of the other eve related public forums say every day? No. Is it any different from the kind of chat that goes off in local chat day in, day out in eve? No.

I'm not condoning his words, it was pretty dumb but take 5 minutes out to think about this, put it in context.
