I'm about 2 weeks from my first T3 and since I'm Gallante I choose the Proteus. I want to use it for exploring so I finally won't need 2 or 3 ships to explore with!Smile What skills would I still need to "beef" up to become a efficient T3 explorer? Here is my eveboard info: http://eveboard.com/pilot/Zornia_Estemaire. Also, which subsystems are best for an explorer T3? Thanks!

Hopefully this link will work, not sure what happened on the first one. http://eveboard.com/pilot/Zornia_Estemaire

The link didn't work.. but a name search does.

Get your subsystems to 5. They are quick and very beneficial.
Get your armor comps up. 5's is also the goal but 4's will get you started.
Drone interfacing 5 is a goal.
I can't remember all your gunnery, but more is better.
1 more level in probing skills.

I like a rail Proteus with a drone sub for 0.0 stuff. Cloaky and Nullified. I like the rails so I can kite the big spawns until they are manageable. It's slower, less DPS, but less risky.

I think any T3 desrves excellent skilling to back it up. Keep that in mind as you go.

Thanks for the suggestions. I already have Drone Interfacing V in my plan and am going to be adding more gunnery skills after I finish up on my scanning skills.

If by "exploration" you mean "w-space", note that the NPC enemies in w-space are significantly smarter than those in k-space, and render even fully specced drones nearly useless, with the possible exception of sniping with stationary drones. Basically, if you're going into a wormhole, you'll likely want to focus on turret power rather than drones.

So for this reason people use the Tengu a lot more, as all of its firepower is concentrated in missiles.

Not Flyinghotpocket's alt. At all.

Faction Warfare is like Fight Club. But with spaceships.

What do you mean by "exploration"?

Killing sleepers in WH space? Better get a Tengu. A lone railgun Proteus (with or w/o drones) isn't efficient enough. (Factors are time-to-clean-a-site and cost/reward ratio.)

Hunting players in WHs with that ship? Without any support? Either you're bait or a victim as soon as more than two ships appear.

There is no reward in "exploration" of WHs in itself. You won't get any experience or bonus points for that like on other games. And nobody will buy maps with links from one WH to another from you, because those links change frequently.
Though, if you intended something like that then better join a corporation which inhabits WHs. They're almost always happy to find someone who loves to scan all the day (given that you're no scammer). And if so, then you will fly a Drake (or rarer, a Brutix) to clean sleeper sites anyway (C1-C3). And after you're finished someone hops in a frigate for the hacking/archaeology part.
