As a man who has made some terrible mistakes when drunk and (mostly) been forgiven and gone on to be a fair and productive member of society, I'd like to see the community stop behaving like a playground lynch mob. Mob mentality is an ugly thing that rarely drives any worthwhile agenda and more often than not simply serves as an excuse for people to excercise the ugly and aggresive parts of their personality without having to be accountable.

CCP is probably feeling aggrieved right now that something they set up with very fine intentions as a benefit for the player base and an important point of contact with their customers has gone so badly teats up.

It's not your fault guys but from now on it probably makes sense to party behind closed doors and get the stuff done that involves the worlds media squared away before the booze starts flowing.

If an event acts as a window into your organisation, you have to have a measure of control over the people that are participating. Mittani may have been representing the playerbase but the outside world will also see him and his companions as representing the company and the game.

I don't want to see the fun sucked out of the world, part of what is great about CCP is that you are not like an ordinary company but more like an extension of the playerbase - FACILITATORS OF THE EXPERIENCE if you like, but the modern world is a judgemental and vindictive creature that is intollerant of that which does not confirm to the norm.

Keep it clean until you want to party, then make sure the doors are closed and the cameras are off.
