Why not if someone remote reps a wartarget they become part of the war for the duration of that war?

Cause we have to wait for the Inferno changes first.

so lets look at the flip side of things, somebody reps a person at war in an incursion and is then stuck in war because of it. Because of that reason i doubt this idea will be implemeted. It will also become a nightmare for keeping track of aggression for people repping to gain perm aggression.

You rep a guy one time and you're involved in his war for potentially weeks? 15 minutes of aggression is fine. It provides all the risk necessary, once CCP invokes the dock/jump timer with Inferno.

edit: Then again, let's do this. If I'm "part of the war" that means I can shoot first. They become valid war targets. I'll just show up with a fleet of Vindicators, rep that one WT you just aggressed on the station, and we'll demolish everything you have. I can sit on the Jita undock in a rookie ship, repping everyone I can to inherit all their wars.

Well, don't take people who are war-decced in your incursion fleets that. You get a popup I think when you try to rep them, so don't rep wardecced people.

I'm more talking about having the wardec transfer to the character not the corp. If you remote rep wartargets, as long as the wardec stays active you as a neutral reppers inherits that wardec.

(maybe wardecs that go up after that shouldn't count.)

That way your remote reppers can interfere but have to bear the consequences.

They already get consequences - they're shootable. If you're not taking advantage of these consequences, then that's no-one's fault but your own.

Highsec gets neutral RR, nullsec gets drag bubbles and blueblobs. Seems fair to me.

QFT. This thread smells like you had a bad experience with Neutral RR and got burned for it. I left highsec for a reason...

I think the consequences as they are are perfectly fine - 15 minutes of aggro for one rep. Use this to your advantage - Jam the person they're repping, force them off field (or kill them) and get back to the WT who is relying on reps that aren't coming.

Not Flyinghotpocket's alt. At all.

Yes... removing neutral rr is a good idea

In an incursion when you rep someone at war it goes hey this person is at war... ARE YOU SURE YOU WANT TO DO THIS?

By clicking yes you are entering the war.

If you turned the notifications off... turn them back on...

Actually I think becoming part of the war is too good. I can be exploited. Just let remote reps become a legal target for the duration of the war, 15 minutes is just a joke.

So I'm curious about something (never did neut RR before): how is this accomplished in high without CONCORDokken??? Is repping not aggression?

Repair modules aren't offensive modules so you can activate them on anyone you like. The consequence is that anyone who is currently allowed to shoot the person you are repairing will be able to shoot you as well for as long as you are repairing and for 15 minutes afterward.

There is a minor gameplay issue with RR in general that of course also affects neutral RR and that is that you are able to dock and jump while remotely assisting someone who is engaged in combat. CCP has already confirmed that this is going to be changed in the future though.

Well thats good.

With the like 2 second docking timer now... anybody can just undock a Basi... then blast a load of shields onto somebody then dock when things get bad.... just to undock again...

You know, back when my corp lived in high sec and war decked everyone...we would have loved this. Go out and rep everyone in Jita and pick up hundreds of free war decks for the corp.... Somehow I dont think CCP would like seeing people be able to avoid the cost of starting wars just by going out and remote repping a bunch of strangers.

Your viewpoint only considers the carebear "i want to avoid war at all cost" point of view. You fail to consider the agressors point of view. There are tons of high sec merc and wannabe pvp corps that would love to avoid the costs of filing war decks and would be out remote repping everyone so they could have free targets to shoot at.

This can *only* work if the neutral repper is also able to shoot you. If I rep your war target and I'm "part of the war" that means you become my war target, too.

It's all a moot point. Neutral RR is going to change radically with Inferno anyway.
