I have been looking for and cannot find it, but they used to have an offline installer. I don't have time now to find it, but anybody know if it is still around?

yeah it is but by the looks of it he has tried that too only to have the same thing happen.which leads me to believe that there is an issue between his pc an the download server as i think he is not getting all the packets.

Aaah... too bad the steam downloader wouldnt be an effective medium since it has to be paid for and I am not sure that can be used to activate an old account. Oh, steam downloader on sale again too.

Try looking in your windows program folder and go into the assemblies subfolder. Are there a lot of old EVE assembly files there?

Could be some left over crap in your registry.

Run CCleaner or some other reg cleaner and try a fresh instal.

Mr Epeen Cool

And if that fails you could try sacrificing a goat, de-fragmenting your hard drive, reading tea leaves, updating your drivers, giving up and buying a new computer, or one of the other standard "remedies" for fixing problems with Windows.

Mine did the same.

I clicked the link, below the error code, that redirected me to the full download. That worked fine.

Not sure if you got this working, I'm also back from a long time off. Nearly 2 years away. I had the same issue when trying to do the "Download Game Client" from the Account page, the install errors immediately.

I took the link to the manual download/install page See Here and downloaded the 3 items.

When clicking the executable I got the "archive extraction failed 3 eve" error and it wouldn't install anything.

I did some trouble shooting based on the comments on this thread and found my old Eve install still on another drive. I removed that with no effect. I did think about patching from the client as it did start up and prompt me to update, but still wanted the fresh install.

I did some checking of the 3 files I downloaded and after test extracting them using WinRAR I found that 1of2 was corrupted. Sort of odd, but it wouldn't extract.

After a new download of that file it did finally install.

I have to say I'm a little disappointed that it was such a hassle to get the game up and running again, even though it was only about 2 hours and not 4 days. The installer should be the #1 priority right next to a secure webpage to accept payment. Nothing turns a customer off faster than a product that doesn't work or requires trouble shooting to start. There should at least be a more descriptive error or self diagnostic/correction feature to workaround.

Good Luck!
