If you are willing to argue from personal experience, I would accept it. Have you been in the position or a professional psychiatrist to know the symptoms and how to understand people who are in psychological distress? You do understand that videogames are one of the main modern outlets for those of severe depression and people make threats of it subconsiously to grasp to get some sense of compassion. Eve it backfires, but it does happen, and peeps need to understand that, if they aren't willing to respect or care, well, it is a video game so am glad those that don't care are about as important as the dirt that catches in my shoes.

I don't care about CCP, but the douches fanning the flames of this manufactured controversy are indeed forcing CCP to make changes that are not good for EVE.

There are so many things that might be worth a protest of this scope and magnitude and to see it wasted on such trivial bullshit is disheartening.

Its how many days now since the incident? And we still have people posting articles to news sites and searching for Sony reps twitter accounts specifically to abuse the CCP/Sony relationship to remove Mittani from the game.

If any of you were concerned with The Wis you would have taken it up privately with CCP and The Wis. By smearing his private life across the public stage you are exposing The Wis to far more abuse then The Mittani and goonswarm EVER did. Sure, Mittani may have already smeared it infront of a FANFEST camera, who's audience is pretty much purely Eve players. But what the rest of you have done is taken it MUCH further. You've now taken it onto every news site, twitter account, and facebook page you can find.

You all say its hurting the game's reputation? You're the ones who smeared it across every news site you could find. CCP would have handled the situation in private where they could show The Wis the dignity he deserved.

You have now started to search for ways to deliberately abuse CCP's industry relationships. If the abuse of the Wis isnt enough, many of you are now in violation of the EULA by deliberately damaging CCP's business in order to further your selfish in-game goals.

Anyone deliberately dragging CCP's name through the gutter in order to accomplish their in-game goals should be held equally accountable for their violations of the EULA.

I hate the Goonswarm, but I agree with you. Despite what Mittens said, nothing is worth destroying the game we love. Especially not after such an AWESOME FanFest. That being the case, I do think CCP will have to do SOMETHING about CSM7, or nothing will get accomplished by the CSM this year (due to lack of respect/trust/what-have-you).

Frogblast the Vent Core! When the W'rkncacnter came, Pthia was killed, and Yrro in anger, flung the W'rkncacnter into the sun. The sun burned them, but they swam on its surface.

I bolded a part where I believe you may be wrong. I read somewhere that several hundred thousand PS3 players also watched the fanfest feed.

That being said, I agree with you. This may turn out badly for The Mittani but our community has taken a hit in this scandal.

CCP doesn't need any bad publicity right now as it claws its way back from last year's debacle and readies itself to release DUST.

I hope this blows over quickly.

Oh thats bad, I had thought this was mostly still in the eve circle. I forgot about the PS3 stream. Some of those guys might not be EvE players. Thats not good. Might explain some things i was reading on some game sites.

The speed with which it has spread is about the same as when CCP went into the luxury clothing business .. difference between the two instances is that the idea of a company loosing touch with its customer base and/or game is infinitely worse for 'business' than a drunkard forgetting that inhibitions are there for a reason.

Eve Online will very likely experience a small surge as the shenanigans/videos from FF are seldom displayed as prominently as it is now that one of us put his foot in his mouth up to his knee. What CCP ought to do is accept it for what it is and encourage the various "news" outlets to link to all the other FF videos .. milk that ***** for all its worth!

You read wrong. The only thing that was shown on PlaystationHome was the Dust514 Keynote and a separate Q&A session after that.

Wait if im not mistaken wasn't it the Mittani that bragged about running to media outlets during INCARNA MONOCLE GATE. And putting pressure on CCP?

So whats good for the goose is not in fact good for the gander?

Just wondering if anyone knows what double standards are?

Hahahahahaha! I was hoping someone would point that out.

This is exactly the point i was trying to make. Mittani may have ****** up, and CCP will deal with that. However, that doesnt give you the right to make more wrongs by deliberately straining CCP's business relationships in order to serve your own goals.

It was fine for the summer of rage crowd, a.k.a. whiny minority, to smear CCP. It proved a valuable tool indeed. Y U no liek it nao?

I was in the position of being in poor mental health and I did play video games but I was smart enough to stay the hell away from eve and any fps

Nonsense. The wis has his private life along with a link to blog of his blind wife's operation splashed around on his bio.

It is the wis that has put his private life in the public domain so I have no sympathy for him, he should be band for threatening to kill him self.

On the other hand goon swarm are a cancer on this game yes this is eve online not hello kitty online. BUT the goons take things way to far. They should not have a representative on the csm.

You can't just deny them the chance to have a seat on the CSM just because you don't like their playstyle. They have just as much right as anyone else as long as they stick to the rules.

They clearly don't stick to the rules, As lax as the harrasment rules are in eve online, its clear the line was crossed by The Mittani if he was a nobody a suspension would be fine, but hes on the csm hes a public face of eve and needs to be punished servilely.

Not that The Wis shouldn't be punished threatening to kill your self in order to provoke guilt is extreamly bad, for his own good he should stop playing this game he clearly has issue's.

I think the internet psychologists who don't really give a damn about WIS other than a issue he had some time back have been my favorite of the bunch so far.

Dave McKean should have stopped by here to sign a lot of you up for bit parts in mirrormask. People with their heads up their asses would have added to the artistic look of the world.

What, you are mad that the Mittani is getting griefed by some of the community???

Payback's a ***** eh? This is pure kharma.

It does suck that this other player is getting caught in the crossfire though, agreed.

It is not just some other player, it is the game and the community being smeared outside the boundary lines of the forums. The actions created by the people over the past week have been as effective as bringing gasoline to put out the Hindenburg. People will say 'I don't want to play because I heard about this one guy..'. Well how did you hear about that guy.

The community said.

Also, you should be careful with that Karma thing, it tends to flow both ways.
