Its how many days now since the incident? And we still have people posting articles to news sites and searching for Sony reps twitter accounts specifically to abuse the CCP/Sony relationship to remove Mittani from the game.

If any of you were concerned with The Wis you would have taken it up privately with CCP and The Wis. By smearing his private life across the public stage you are exposing The Wis to far more abuse then The Mittani and goonswarm EVER did. Sure, Mittani may have already smeared it infront of a FANFEST camera, who's audience is pretty much purely Eve players. But what the rest of you have done is taken it MUCH further. You've now taken it onto every news site, twitter account, and facebook page you can find.

You all say its hurting the game's reputation? You're the ones who smeared it across every news site you could find. CCP would have handled the situation in private where they could show The Wis the dignity he deserved.

You have now started to search for ways to deliberately abuse CCP's industry relationships. If the abuse of the Wis isnt enough, many of you are now in violation of the EULA by deliberately damaging CCP's business in order to further your selfish in-game goals.

Anyone deliberately dragging CCP's name through the gutter in order to accomplish their in-game goals should be held equally accountable for their violations of the EULA.

the mittani did a nice job of it all by his lonesome little self.

The COMMUNITY did NOTHING.

He even provided tons of VIDEO FOOTAGE for the purpose. (Obviously I read it. Otherwise, why would I respond ?)

Yet another poor attempt at shifting the blame onto the people bringing what the mittani did into the public light. If CCP takes appropriate action against the mittani and all those who would willfully, directly harass players and explicitly encourage others do so also, then in the long run this will be good for Eve.

I still can't believe people are trying to claim that the players who are outraged about this are the ones who are bringing all the attention to The Wis, when who originally encouraged players to harass him?

The only way this kind of behavior will be prevented in the future is if we force CCP's hand and make them take action to make sure this never happens in Eve, or at fanfest again.

Wait if im not mistaken wasn't it the Mittani that bragged about running to media outlets during INCARNA MONOCLE GATE. And putting pressure on CCP?

So whats good for the goose is not in fact good for the gander?

Just wondering if anyone knows what double standards are?

Completely agreed. The only people that are raging about this are people that will suffer from the titan nerf, a possible incursion nerf, Riverini, and NPC forum alts. Meanwhile rational thinkers can see beyond the bullshit and discover that there is actually no problem. Mittens did a dumb thing while drunk, realised what he did and wrote a heartfelt apology (along with giving him all the money in his character's wallet). The Wis didn't even realise that this happened until someone in-game pointed it out, and even then he (Wis) remained completely indifferent about the incident.

(By the way, this probably should have gone in the apology thread to avoid further clogging of GD with topics about this)

This is exactly the point i was trying to make. Mittani may have ****** up, and CCP will deal with that. However, that doesnt give you the right to make more wrongs by deliberately straining CCP's business relationships in order to serve your own goals.

I am not affected by any of those things, just like a lot of the people who are posting about this.

Speculate all you want about the people who are pissed off about this, but this bad attempt at profiling doesn't change anything. Something must be done to reprimand him and everyone who would do something like what the mittani did.

Eve's playerbase has always been rowdy and the metagame is vast and terrifying.

Mittani made one stupid comment in fit of drunkenness, which he has since apologized for. Other people who could not possibly care less about whether the kid lives or dies have intentionally turned this into a political football to further their own agenda. You tell me whose conduct is more shameful.
