WI used to be such a cool alliance what happened? diminished to a pet corp.

Alexander has been dumb hes going to have to take his medicine. Maybe if he hadnt whored himself to every gaming site doing interviews and presenting himself as the face of the Eve player base the medicine wouldnt taste so bad. Maybe if his ego hadnt been so puffed up with self importance by his percieved role people would be more sympathetic.

Do you have literally everyone else in this thread on ignore because you just seem to pop in, make a random, moronic comment with no relevance to the current topic of discussion then leave.

Also I'm still only seeing 4 minor articles about this on a google news search for eve or eve fanfest and nothing outside the gaming press and the comments are mixed. I'd hardly call that a PR disaster.

So what happened exactly? Mittani mocked a guy in RL... no, strike my last, he mocked him on a game-related convention in RL for something he did to him in the game. That's a little low, but no big deal really.

Don't you dare resign over this. Even though I agree that two step would probably be a good chairman too.

but this is RL stuff , you know somthing outside your room

if you want a brutal place outside of eve .... im sure you know where to go, i would and was there

Sum up, he had too many drinks prior and during the alliance board presentation at fanfest. During which, he brought quotes of "carebear tears". This in itself is not the bad part, but mentioned suicide and during the Q&A on the stream, he said people should make him kill himself, gave the user name and told people to grief. Sarcasm, but EULA issues, people having stronger opinions, etc

Just to be clear, you don't care about growing the playerbase? Awesome, glad your on the CSM. That attitude will really be helpful when DUST launches. You DO want DUST to fail, right?


No matter what you feel about Mittani or what he said, don't forget DUST comes out pretty soon. I for one would like it to be the best damn FPS on PS3 (and I don't even own a ****station) because I love EVE, and I want what CCP showed us at FanFest. You know, all that sexy DX11 tech and whatnot. This flamewar is getting absurd, and while I originally posted my opinions, it's an internal matter for CCP, and whatever is said for and against Mittens retaining the Chair won't matter in the end. Just because CCP stroked your ego at FanFest, does not mean you Goons own the game. Be proud while you can, but don't fly too close to the sun, that epeen of yours might just melt.

Fortunately it is 2012 and most gamers will find their gaming related news from sites such as those, blogs and other discussion portals. A few of the more prominent MMO bloggers have picked it up as well. I don't think this is something that will be picked up by the mainstream media though.

it is an ingame issue. it was said at an event where they're encouraged to talk about their game life. Its hard to completely seperate your ingame character with real life personality sometimes. What is said on teamspeak isnt in game. does that mean when i say i'm going to go kill that guy on teamspeak i'm threatening his real life body? No.

And the only reason you're all here is because you're abusing The Wis's personal problems for your own selfish reasons. namely, to remove mittani from csm like you've all been trying and plotting to do for years.

I for one am glad to tell people I play this game. It's the only MMO that remotely has a community like this, that are not afraid to take a stand on any issue or any side of an issue. It's one of the many reasons I love and will continue to play this game.

My only regret is that I sold some characters that I never should have sold, and never should have taken "I quit" breaks, because those are pointless. The game is just too good to quit, no matter what issues or what have you come up.

In fact, the only result this ridiculous little dust devil of pompous outrage over a drunken joke is accomplishing is tarnishing EVEs "You have to be tough, thick skinned, and ruthless to play EVE" reputation.

Instead you are making the EVE community look like a bunch of Second Life rejects with delusions of grandeur, while patting yourself on the back for "bringing to justice" a "psychopath" whose only crime was to get drunk and make a bad joke that tortured the victim enough to force him to remark the equivalent of "I've been Cyber what-ed?"

At least it will increase subs, even if it will only be from people who think we're twits.

It's being dealt with by those affected, everything else is just an attention grab.
