Anyone know the Twitter account of the SONY rep responsible for interfacing with CCP over DUST514?

Don't do it bro. You will only hurt the game we love. CCP has done nothing in this instance to warrant you trying to damage their rep. w/ Sony.

The same people responsible for driving this non-issue along would burn down CCP headquarters if it meant Mittens would get removed from the CSM or the game, and then unironically blame him for it.

Listen to the man...

It's massive bad-press, something we don't need at all.

I'd like nothing more then see mittens step down and get TwoStep as chair, but not for the cost of burning eve's reputation that's going on right now.

This. OP is a massive douchebag for even considering it.

While I wouldn't agree that it's a non-issue, I can't help but agree with everything else you said.

I've spread my thoughts on this across different threads, but I think this summarises it pretty well (for me...).

Sperging on Sony's twitter feed, as an EVE player, is just low, really really low... I don't want to tip your hand, but if you were serious about being a ****, you should have just picked up the phone and called them.

One can only hope that this matter is dealt with quickly and that CCP then delete these threads.

They make us, the players look really bad.

Tons of bad press already. Most gaming sites have the story already. I am surprised i have not seen it on main stream media in the US yet to be honest. The PC cursade in the US has been killing this country for years and they have almost completed their goal, the complete destruction of the United States of America as we know it today.

I do not like the goons from other games, I am new to EVE, so do not know much about them here expect the fact that it seems nothing changes from game to game with the goons.

Yeah, agreed.

But CCP do need to do something sooner rather than later as it's already got out of hand.

Agree with all except the OP. If any reason to contact sony, it would be to promote and allow us to present the overall social dynamic of the eve universe in order to show that their investment into CCP is a good choice. Eve does have the best player community. I have channels I run independent from corp and alliance for purely social reasons. Some of the best gamer peeps I know anywhere and excellent conversations, group activity.

Heck, that is actually what we need. Remember the I was there bit of joke thread, but was still most part serious on facebook? Bit carebear but we should restart/find the this is my eve thread. Players just post what they do in eve, why they do should the press get bad.

To quote Lfod Shi

The ratting itself is PvE. Getting away with it is PvP.

Fox will find a way to make it a story, don't worry.

Bioware/EA are far bigger, juicier targets than CCP, and a made-up sex scandal is far more alluring than "47 year old man almost bullied in video game nobody has heard of".

Exactly, it's Fox, they'll do anything for ratings. A low level MMO from a country that 95% of their viewer base couldn't find on a map isn't exactly going to set people's soul alight, nor will the traumatic tale of an adult almost getting bullied but not really.

CCP *doing* nothing is reason enough. They will continue to do nothing. No harm was done, so they will carry on as if nothing happened. That's what most people see at this point anyway. They believe that as long as nothing happens, it's ok to do anything you want. Even mess with someones real life. So long as no-one is physically harmed or killed, anything goes. Because there is no such thing as emotional or psychological "hurt".

While some of these threads have merit, they do need to stop. People need to simply recognize that CCP and the Goons are one and the same, and they will continue to do whatever they want to do in regards to this issue.

If people want to see action taken, they need to contact places like Sony or news sources, etc. Whining here on the forum is "taking action" about equal to Alex "apologizing". It's words, not action.

Not worth the effort though. This has blown over already.

Profit favors the prepared
