Theres a difference between English, and English (US) which is what you use.

Mother ******* SHINY!!! Hell yeah guys - very cool. I really like how you maintained the ability to see the English title of the site while reading everything in your native language ... that just shows an excellent comprehension of the topic. And the "any" search? Hell yes!

I like this, and I think I posted a while back in a papercuts thread about my desire to see universal search. Glad to see this feature coming!

I'd like to see a better search box though. I press Ctrl+F, up pops a box. I type my search term and hit enter. Up pops the results from which I can scroll through, and then hit another key combo to perform another task. So, for example.

CTRL+ F (brings up search
"Jita", Enter (searches for Jita)
CTRL + Something (sets AP, shows info, shows market details or whatever)

I have a specific comb for my beard.

none of us are really UI programmers (hence the help from karkur when we could steal her!)

We would LOVE to get our awesomesauce search into some snazzy UI, But we couldn't get our hands on the UI designers as they were busy and we sorta ninja'd the search in Twisted

Once we get some more time we'll see if we can get resources to make things more snazzy and user friendly... But thats up to people with a higher paygrade than me :)

Currently, reindexing happens every 15 minutes (like many of our other server-cached elements), so we're hoping the tradeoff of a much more usable search makes up for that small lag. We are however researching ways of making that window even smaller in the future, but we wanted to use a fairly conservative configuration with this first deployment.

I think it'd be cool to have this kind of UI. Makes using the search a whole load easier, and you can use the results easier too :)

They're sorted by relevancy to the search term -- Searching for "Bob Jita" should list results like "Bob Jita" and "Jita Bob" above results like "Bobdudeman Awesome Jitalol". Currently it's a bit more random when elements have the same relevancy, for example if you just search "CCP" to find all us dev characters, but we are currently looking at ways to make that case more usable as well. When in doubt, be more specific :)
