The reason the forum doesn't allow dislikes is :goons: because having the ability to downvote a post would lead to the kind of mob-posting goons are known for.   • Any other situation is suddenly and miraculously a legitimate indicator of a person's posting quality and his standing amongst the "playerbase"

You know what. All this pubbie B*** S*** is entirely too funny. You complain and gripe about an aspect of the game that is prevalent and real in the arena of play. If such an environment did not exist, then Empire space would be completely safe, no pirates would exist and no conflict would exist in game. Guess what, even the presentations were a reflection of the gaming community, NOT the players real life, even though real people were present.

GET OVER YOURSELF already. Holy Sh!7!!!! Crawl back in to your hole and go play ANGRY BIRDS and take your frustrations on on something where no-one loses except you and your whiny ass, disillusioned pansies that you associate with.

Is this authentic? Rather makes it sound as if The Mittani a) knew about what he said before he landed (contra his apology), and b) remained disparaging about the issue despite having read the 'stupid media hit pieces'. Indeed, the main sense is of someone working out how to minimise the political fallout. But then, I don't know how these internal Goon things work so any light that a Goon might shed on this would be appreciated.

Well like it or not *ahem* one of the ways that we can get a sense of how well a forum discussion is going is to see whether third party reads support a particular point of view or not. Imagine for a moment if Eve forums had a system whereby you could sort the responses to a thread by "likes" (as is common with many media sites that allow public posting incidently). And sure, its exploitable and many of the goons have done just that with script-hacks and such - but generally you can see when a quality poster is attracting likes for a post it means they are putting a reasonable argument across.

I tend to "like" posts that have some substance (or occassionally ones that make me laugh). The reason why you have attracted so few likes is that you aren't really saying anything that 10,000 goons haven't said already. (la la la la I'm not listening la).

I dont particularly like the guy nor his policies but he has recognized the error in his ways.
