Not really, it often happens when least expected. His distress seemed genuine something like that doesn't just disappear overnight.

Go red the chatlogs of someone telling him about this today. He's fine, and apparently thought the video was funny.

No one who knows about this seems to care less than the supposed 'victim'.

Its not about this poor guy anymore its about rules. Rules are Rules you should't be breaking EULA.

Just stopping by to point out that everyone attempting to use the non-suicide of someone they've never met as political capital in imaginary internet spaceship politics is objectively a worse human being than The Mittani.

Good that Mittani apologized. and good think that guy in mackinaw is OK. Its the good part of the story.

But we have rules co called "EULA" and I think that law can't be broken. We are not using RLife names for a reason. So there need to be consequences. Its the sad part of the game when computer pixels are meeting Real Life.

Alliance panel was the worst part of the fan fest - and guys - You are not rock stars you are nothing you are just players like others - grow up and do not act like "Kardashians" .

I think that CCP need to think about "Celebrities" of eve... Its maybe too much..

Did not see any real life name used tbh...cause it did not happen

Anyone can feel on top on the world while drunk, but it takes real balls to own up to it and write an apology like that. That is a commendable act

Real balls? It takes 5 minutes writing some meaningless words on a paper. Nothing more. Apologizing is just another way of manipulating people.

So after this, this and this, all of the sudden he is sorry and we should just accept it? Words are meaningless unless followed by actions.

I won't pretend I'm some sort of moralist here asking for him to be punished for what he did. I don't really care. Was it appropriate? Not really, but then again in all honesty, who cares?

But I am having a laugh seeing Mittani squirm and would enjoy seeing his CSM chair burn.

I suggested that 'the Goons' perhaps follow there esteemed leaders example

As I say this scandal is in the process of breaking, this may look very bad for CCP to the general public to whom 'Internet spaceship pewpew' is not serious business at all but having there sons daughters friends and loved ones driven to sucide very much IS.

Do not fall for his serenading apologetic letter to garner vindication of his misconduct and emotional appeal to redeem himself from the "scandal" he has caused.

It has been CLEAR EVER SINCE THE BEGINNING that he never had an ounce of doubt about his misconduct during the Fanfest 2012. He stood firm and resolute in the rightfulness of inciting thousands of players to provoke a mentally unstable player to commit suicide.

These are the responses from Mittani the Great prior to this debacle and public outcry:

"You're not a valid subscriber, you're a NPC alt. The opinions of NPC alts don't count for anything."

"~10,058~"

He even lies to all of us by telling us that he never incited the players to send mails to provoke him to commit suicide when there is a video that clearly shows that he is delusional and a liar: "Also, I didn't suggest that people evemail the guy. I suggested that they run locator agents on him and blow up his Mackinaws - which is exactly what locators are for. "

Him justifying his misconduct by telling all of us that what he did abides by the spirit of EVE Online: "Crying about people being drunk and partying at Fanfest is like crying about suicide ganking and nonconsensual PvP in the client itself."

Since the beginning, he has seen no error in him inciting thousands of EVE players to provoke an unfortunate guy to commit suicide. He willingly, knowingly, and deliberately showed misconduct because he sincerely believes that there is nothing wrong with doing so. His responses explain his thoughts.

Do not fall for his "apologies." He only wrote this AFTER he got stream of news media covering his misconducts. He was scared of losing the chairmanship, his account, and his leadership over Goons.

Damn, this is almost (almost) as disgusting as making a drunken, terrible joke about a guy killing himself. Using this to further your own petty political agenda is right up there with The Mittani himself. You should be ******* ashamed of yourself, it's obvious that you dont give a flying F about suicide-guy or cyber-bullying, but just desperately want to get Mittani out the CSM chair.

Remind us all again how a video game software license applies to a real life event?

Actually no wait, don't. I'll just make up my own nonsensical reason in my head, it's bound to be less frustrating than reading whatever you come up with.

Means everything, means nobody took his alleged "threat" seriously, means this whole outrage has been manufactured by people not above using someone they consider suicidal for their own gain.

All of you vultures harassing a poor man who clearly has problems with alcohol should be ashamed of yourselves. Alcoholism is a disease and Mittani deserves your understanding as much as a person with cancer or HIV does. Using his unfortunate outburst while drunk to push him out of the chair for metagaming purposes is just despicable. For shame.

This is a game where players take pride in kicking down sandcastles and stripping their enemies of literally everything they have worked for over years. No part of the game is exempt from this and anybody with serious issues IRL should not be using a game, especially not a cutthroat MMO like EVE to escape them. They should be seeking help and straightening out their priorities.

I agree that they need to fix their life, and its not the best game for him.
But that does not change the fact that they are in the game, and they do have issues, and they are less tough than the normal gaming people. And CCP encourage people to join and have some sort of life in the game.

And as such you need to have the enough brain cells to know how to handle that.
You can be smart, go "WTF DID I JUST READ" after reading that guy's letter and leave him alone / ignore him / let him sort his own issues.
Or you can go total brain retarted bad-ass bastard, and post it and make fun of him in front of everyone.
This is not like a person kicking another when he is down. Its like making everyone kick him when he is down.

Mittens chose the latter, and he is hopefuly going to pay for it.

The same as you don't take a mentally issued friend to a bar, get him drunk, and than encourage him to drunkly jump off a bridge, you don't do that like how mittens did. Being drunk is not an excuse, its just something to hide behind so you don't have to face the consequences.
Else people who killed their wife while being drunk could have a very valid excuse. Right?

Hey Z

Hows tricks

Unfortunatly the cat is out the bag now and in the public domain, the number of gaming sites that almost instantly covered the story, that may not be the end of this

There's no way to know how far such a 'viral' effect will have just now, because the infection has just started to spread as it where,

1000's of players ranting on facebook, twitter, no-one sure how 'high' up the publicity ladder this is going to climb, what Sony's reaction will be regarding this scandal regarding a comapny they are 'in bed with'

Thats why I warned the goons

Other people than CCP may forensically examine this incident, only time will tell the overall outcome, we are now at day 2 of the 'Mittani incident'

At least he has finally and defenatly sealed his entry into the history of New Eden

Good morning Professor,

Sorry, but traditionally I don't give a flying crap about press and politics if RL human lives are in danger.
So this guy was going through a hard time and found Eve as a vent and a safe place to find at least some stability and order and some way to stay in control of his life- even if it is a virtual one. MMOs are getting more and more important to those people. And now, just in the name of political correctness, you are depriving this person of his personal "safe spot" and drag him out all into the public. You are taking away the last bit of control he had over his life.
I don't care about facebook, , twitter, the CSM and even Eve, as long as it endagers a living human.
Just my 2 cents.

OK... I will do my part in no longer participating in this thread. Gonna log into Eve and just kill some ice miners instead- to show them that i still care and want to enrich their gaming experience Blink

I'd like to apologize for the poor quality of the post above and sincerely hope you didn't waste your time reading it. Yes, I do feel bad about it.
