This game revolves around being mean to each other in cyberspace.

Deal With It.

Fanfest is an extension of the eve universe. Every one there in the interviews introduced themselves as [Insert Your Main's Name Here], All of the devs introduced themselves as CCP so and so.

So by extension and action of the populous at fenfest eve is real.

See, the fanfest counts as in game when Mittani is guilty of breaking the eula (he's not)
and it counts as out of game when he's guilty of something that requires him be in real life instead

maybe he's one of those who watched from PSN HOME, then for him it would look like it was held in cyberspace. Maybe he's not smart enough to figure out that it was real what he saw there...

So you are saying that anything happening on fanfest cannot be cyber bullying because it happens not in cyberspace? Gotcha.

http://www.stopcyberbullying.org/what_is_cyberbullying_exactly.html

Definition of Cyberbullying requires the participans be underage.

Mittani is a retired lawyer.
The other guy is in his mid 30s or so.

Not Cyberbullying.

the fact that we have like 170 pages of butthurt pubbies bitching that people are mean in a pvp game is absurdity of the highest order.

Again a perfect example of how ignorant and utterly arrogant goon players are when sucking up to their alliance leader.
Bullying happens across all ages and isn't just an educational or gaming phenomena.

Not in the UK.

In the UK there are 5 laws which you can be prosecuted under and none of them are age related.

Cyber bullying is defined as the following

"Cyberbullying is the term used to define bullying behaviour that takes place on line, on social networking, mobile technologies, gaming and instant messaging platforms. The impact of this is equally hurtful and damaging"

OP again needs to look back at eve and the differences between griefing and bullying. I am not an 03 player or the like, but on the founding of eve, I am pretty sure it wasnt on players go out and force other players out of the game they are paying us to play.

If it was, they wouldn't have made it an exploid to avoid concord, it wouldn't have highsec, it wouldn't have new player space, it wouldn't have the rules regarding harassment. Eve was founded on being a harsh universe, not what is concidered bullying. Besides, the issue is player harassment.

To quote Lfod Shi

The ratting itself is PvE. Getting away with it is PvP.
