I wonder how many player in your ingame entourage commited suicide.
In Goonswarm Federation, we have one.
This is probably why we don't understand when you rise against mittens right now. You make a big deal out of nothing, and he was NOT encouraging suicide, he just pointed out how ridiculous it would be to commit suicide over a video game. People take it too seriously.

I have seen alot of "we are not responsible for a players mental state" While agreeing with this statement that does not give the right for anyone at anytime to be excused for playing on a persons mental state or to the extent of pushing other people to play on it in an attempt to create a situation like has been presented. I think suicide, talking about it, or any such nonsense is dumb, but it is apparent in the world we live in that it can be taken to far and it has and the last place it should be done is here. Drunk or not you are responsible for your actions as you decided to drink, no one forced you. I rarely post on forums but this is bulls*** and the CSM should be punished for it.

He's a guy who mixes up real life and Eve constantly and calls himself a sadist. Why is anyone surprised at what he said once the alcohol got his guard down?

Oh and by the way, is THIS what it means to be "Machiavellian" in the "modern sense?" His idea of being a smooth operator is to get trashed and make an idiot out of himself on a live stream? The people who should really be disappointed are those that bought into the idea that this guy was professional in any respect when it comes to politics. The unfortunate side of this is that he has set CCP, the CSM and public perception of Eve Online back quite a bit. What was to be a bonanza of great press over Fanfest now turns out to be an unmitigated PR disaster and we all suffer.

I do quite a bit of trolling in game and on forums, and am a nasty pirate in Eve, but I would never do something like that and certainly do not support his actions

Well he's apologised and said he was in the wrong. Thats good enough for me if he does somthing positive with his position now. Now we just have to see how Sony feels about all of this.

Edit: Sorry need to make it clear that i think that rather than punish him he should step up and use his position to encourage positivity, stripping him of the chair of CSM will just lead to more shooting of statues and forum rage, where as if he where to use this as a chance to promote positivity within gaming (Im not saying stop being a douche in game, I mean to make sure that things dont go too far.).

I might also add i have always been a huge fan of mittens (up to this point) and thought that things like the gallante ice interdiction and sucicide ganking are all part of the game, also that the last CSM chaired by him where a huge positive for the game.

What he did while drunk however is indefensable, hell he dosn't even defend it.

Might be worth some positivity and how we can go forward from this rather than flame on we ten dto get on the forums. I may look foolish for having my opinion, and my spelling may be terrible, however please try and keep it constructive. If only due to the fact that at the mnoment the gaming press are looking at our community and probably trawling thease forums for bite sized quotes.

You're defending a cyber-bully and terrible person, and therefore YOU are a cyber-bully and all around terrible person. You should be ashamed of your vicarious actions through mittens-while-drunk and should probably step down from your position as poster and seriously consider the harm you have caused people. Mittens has never done anything good how DARE you defend him.
