The condeming evidence that doesn't allow Mittens to pull the 'I was drunk' card is the fact that he had the slide, etc organised prior to FF, which makes the comments a pre-meditated act.

From CCP's perspective I don't see how they can come to any other conclusion from their investigation other than the Mittani had pre-organised to make the comments that he did. And any media outlet is going to burn CCP at the stake if they ignore this fact in their PR damage control.

This can not be quoted enough.

Nah. We'd countertroll.

Also it should be noted that molle did tell us to go die in video format during the Bob BBQ.

But that's a bit of a weak equivalence. I'm willing to bet you can find more than one threat or bits of reveling in real life harms and death that have occurred to various goons if you dug into the forums a bit.

As long as it is kept in the game. Mittens asked for game actions to happen to get the guy to kill himself in real life. He did not say this on some private forum, or even just here on eve-o. He said this during a live web stream, in front of hundreds of neckbeards at the main CCP event they have once a year.

You suck at history.

People have threatened goons, and there families many times IRL. ****, your example litterally happened, Molle did say he wanted all goons who showed up to his BBQ to die. In real life.

****, read this thread you will see people threaten goons.

Generally they laugh it off. After all the internet is serious business. I think the founder of the website proclaimed himself the "King of e-Threats" for the number of death threats he has received.

Really though, there's not much here for anyone media-wise to run with. Mainstream media isn't going to give a toss since The Wis is an adult, and a story about an adult being bullied wouldn't go beyond the comedy phases. Gaming media COULD be more specific I guess, but The Wis' overall indifference to the whole thing (and Mittens' apology both to him and in public) makes it dead before it got started, since once The Wis is gone, you've really got nothing beyond either blurfing about how Eve is a mean game (in other news, the sky is blue) or trying to take the words of players with agendas as transparent as can be (in other words, Eve political stuff).

The only thing major that CCP is going to change about this will be a lot of procedural stuff for the next fanfests (more in-depth presentation vetting, reserving the right to not let someone present if they're too drunk/high/whatever). If Mittens leaves either the CSM or just the Chair, it'll be his own doing and nobody else's.

"Look any reason why you need to talk like that? I have now reported you. I dont need to listen to your bad tone. If you cant have a grown up conversation then leave the thread["

CSM Chairman has exposed himself as unfit for position. A verified cyber bully has no place emboldening it upon themselves, elected or otherwise to claim that they represent the best interests of the eve online community.

No matter how many of Mitten's friends come on here trying to defend his non-excusable actions, the fact remains that this will not be simply smoothed over with his "I was drunk" apology, nor any other. The game politics of who's alliance you are in has nothing to do with this. Mittani must be reprimanded for his severe actions against this poor suicidal person he had targeted to mock and make fun of in spite of his situation.

This sick and sadistic attitude of Mittani's is hopefully not just his "roleplaying as a bad guy" ideals coming out in real life. If this would be the case, it would imply that he is in a deep state of psychosis and is unfit to be a public figure to stress the opinions of multitudes of people. I certainly do not condone this behavior as acceptable. As said before, "The real you comes out when you are drunk".

There is no damage control for this.

I love how almost all of the "Get rid of Mittens" posts are by either NPC alts or NC. guys (Grats on losing those 3 titans), Darius III (Ever going to be better than last place?), etc.

Sorry Mittani, but as Chair CSM this is too much. As head of Goonswarm I don't give a crap what you do, but when you represent the player base like this, it's time for you to move on.

Having yourself voted as chair because you have the largest alliance in the game shouldn't be considered any type of acheivement and maybe if your being Alex Gianturco for once, you should think about whether you are the right person to lead the CSM, when you are essentially elected via brute force......

The problem is not that he did this on the forums or in-game, the problem is he did this at Fanfest (IRL) while holding the banner of CSM President, making him the main voice of the community and the player voice of CCP. You really can't defend this sort of behavior and he ought to be banned like any normal player would be if they pulled something like this.

I agree with you, I mean I think this whole thing is wayyy over the top my self. And everyone knows the media will turn a stream into a flood at the drop of the hat.

I was just saying, I don't think Eve needs more bad PR then it already has. I guess, what I'm trying to say is. Better safe then sorry?

It already is when used describing events concerning an adult with no verifiable mental or emotional issues.

It just takes a while for some people to realize it.
