not true, i watched the livestream and was disgusted. i posted something into the FB chat (dont remember exactly what).

also, CSM7 was announced on saturday. its not your fault you weren't paying attention due to arrogance.

You are ********. The Alliance Panel where this happened was on Thursday and the CSM 7 announcement was on Saturday. That sounds like two days to me (Thursday -> Friday, +1, Friday -> Saturday, +2, hrmm...math!).

Although i sympathize with the individual in question, if a player is not able to psychologically handle a loss whether its by scam, combat, etc, Eve is not the game for them. Eve is brutal and unforgiving and that is what draws us to this game. Our community must be mindful on how we conduct ourselves in the public venue as well. CCP has some blame here as well since they seem foster or even encourage drinking at fanfest, so incidents like come as no surprise. But in the end reasonable restraint and sound judgement falls on the individual.

personally, I could really care less what was said. But the fact is, if you look at the comments on any of the gaming sights this was posted on. Its given eve a pretty large black eye. I didn't even know about this till one of my friends who dosent even play Eve told me about it.

I really don't think he should have to step down my self, but now that's is been blown up soo much....hes pretty much gonna have too at this point for CCP to save face.

Apology accepted. Inebriated or not what you said was beyond ****-move. That said, goon or not this was a heart-felt apology.

You better not be still gunning for chairman after a cluster-**** like this though! I mean **** dude, apology or not what you said (drunk or not) was tantamount to political suicide.

PS: Dont resign.

Pretty sure any not-major-CEO-and-or-EVE-historical-figure would have been banned for such actions. Double standard much?

Pretty sure random people harass other random people 24/7 in Eve. They call it "playing Eve".

Pretty sure most don't go to real life events and represent the game company (+ the community for that matter), while making fun of someone openly who may or may not be suicidal. Any "non-major-player" would be banned immediately. People get banned for way less than that. In game is one thing. IRL is another entirely...

Hasn't CCP already banned people just for saying "Kill yourself" in forums to someone? So, he's going to get away with encouraging thousands of people to "make this guy kill himself" via griefing? Frankly if he is NOT banned, it's a complete hypocrisy on CCP's part, as well as not-so-subtle official condonation of what he did.

No Troll (and probably the only post I've made so far I can say that honestly to): He's trying to pass the Chairmanship off but more than one person has refused it.

The game politics of who's alliance you are in has nothing to do with this. Mittani must be reprimanded for his severe actions against this poor suicidal person he had targeted to mock and make fun of in spite of his situation.

It is very stange how some would openly allow and feel no remorse for this sick and sadistic behavior exhibited by Mittani. Monsters will be monsters, I suppose.

Would that be be the poor suicidal person that joked about his "I want to die after my divorce statement"?

Or the poor suicidal person who was completely unaware that he was supposedly being "cyber bullied", and could care less about all this nonsense?

Weather or not the person was suicidal is completely irrelevant to the argument from both a legal and PR standpoint.

He just doesn't want to give it to Trebor or Darius, cause that'd be a disaster.

The condeming evidence that doesn't allow Mittens to pull the 'I was drunk' card is the fact that he had the slide, etc organised prior to FF, which makes the comments a pre-meditated act.

From CCP's perspective I don't see how they can come to any other conclusion from their investigation other than the Mittani had pre-organised to make the comments that he did. And any media outlet is going to burn CCP at the stake if they ignore this fact in their PR damage control.

Fact #1: The Mittani said he was going to resign.

Fact #2: The Mittani has not resigned.

Still waiting on an explanation here.

Except that this is a video game environment we're talking about. A video game where murder, backstabbing, stealing, conning, killing and every other base action of the human race is not only acceptable, but encouraged. Par for the course.

You do realize he's just resigning the chair right?

And that he can only do so on the suffrage of the other CSM members?

Way to man up and apologize.

I know I just gained a lot more respect for you and your alliance.
It's easy to hate the Goons if you aren't a Goon, and you guys propogate that, but
thank you for doing the right thing.

How exactly do you know it was a heart-felt apology?

And I don't mean that like a Goon would. You know, demanding college degrees in psychology and knowing the person for decades and nonsense like that.

I mean in the "have you personally talked with this guy before or after he gave the apology" sense. As in, do I have any reason to believe you or place any credibility in what you have said?

When I used to fly as Madam Squishy, and sat in 6vdt for 16+ hours in the name of TEST, flying with the WIdot flag with Goon leadership in that war, I can honestly state that Mittens is not what people saw in that fanfest panel. I don't know him on a personal level, but I know that he isn't that evil of a man, he merely portrays one in a video game.

Listen, the man made a mistake, owned up to it, and apologized privately with the guy he was talking about, and publicly to all of us. I think he fulfilled his societal obligation and should be left alone to carry on with everyday life and gaming within Eve.

To be honest, everyone says something really stupid, or even evil. I myself made some very bad comments about the Arabic community of Earth whlie drunk (I had served in the Army and in Iraq for over 10 months) but that's not who I am while in a sane state. Alcohol is not the scapegoat.

At any rate, Mittens probably doesn't remember me or even cares to know who I am, but I know he still has my support within Eve because I believe in the guy. He's a good level headed dude, and has earned my respect.
