Mittani learned a lesson about how maybe he shouldn't get drunk off his **** on a live broadcast, that he should choose his words carefully, and now CCP and his peers in the CSM can decide what happens from this point. Everyone screaming and hollering that he NEEDS to step down and how he's a shame and disgusting and whatnot are showing their own immaturity for not being able to forgive a man who's admitted he did wrong and made amends for it, especially in a case like this where nobody's gotten harmed.

Kudos to The Mittani for giving him 10.7 billion ISK. But wait, was that The Mittani who gave him the ISK or Alex? Because he said in his apology:

I'm sorry that you feel that way. The simple fact of the matter is that The Mittani is a positive influence for the game and him stepping down from the CSM would be to everyone's detriment. Furthermore, if the person in question is willing to let it go why aren't you?

I think not. This isn't a lot of indignation about Mittens being a drunken fool. We already knew that, or at least suspected it.

This is about the chair of our CSM - the guy who is an ambassador for the EVE gaming community - carrying out a cyber-bullying attack at Fanfest, live to camera, and the world's gaming media. It's a hot issue, and EVE already has a bad rep for it, thanks to Mitten's antics in-game. Getting caught doing the same thing out of game is just a disaster for the game, for CCP, for us the community, and probably for Alex personally.

It's nothing to do with moral indignation. It's all to do with disappointment and bad press.

Stealth edit - All political careers end in failure. Mitten's political career in the CSM looks like it just did.

It is very stange how some would openly allow and feel no remorse for this sick and sadistic behavior exhibited by Mittani. Monsters will be monsters, I suppose.

Battered wife assumes he is hitting me instead of arranging for all of my ship losses to magically be payed for. And all I have to do is show up on ops nothing because peacetime reimbursement is pretty boss.
