PS; as a genuine independent eve player I consider his apology and 10.7 bil isk reparations paid more than enough to make up for his mistake

And howmuch did Goonswarm take in from Moongoo per month again?
Makes 10.7 bill look like easy peanuts.

Resign chair and work under someone else as chair. That seems fitting enough for me and wouyld be more of a lesson as how to act in public then he displayed at the Fanfest.

Yes of course the ISK amount is trivial to his corporation and alliance - doesn't mean it is to him as an individual and it most definitely isn't a trivial amount to the victim

considering how public and transparent goonswarm's finances are I see no reason to think it wasn't his personal ISK he sent to the wis - while you think it's fitting he resign not many of the people who voted for him would agree with you

1) Cool NPC alt.

2) You are aware that members of GSF are not actually bots but are, in fact, their own individuals capable of thinking for themselves?

You seriously need to think about getting rid of that tin foil, it looks rather silly.

LoL sorry, I truly think debating lost causes is useless, but I couldn't avoid this.

If all the goons posting in this thread do support some of the reasoning they post, they are really mentally ill, I trully hope they are actually mindless bots, still gives me hope on humanity !

Anyway, my opinions were told, posting useless stuff in this thread won't help at all, any side. Opinions were given, responsable people will make decisions.

And he has. He's issued a public apology to Wis, he's given him more than 10 billion isk, and he's expressed regret that he made a complete ass of himself on live TV. He's said he'll be talking to the CSM and CCP about this, and they'll reach a decision together. That seems like plenty of payment for his mistake, and instead of screaming about how he should be impeached and removed and expelled and banned from the game maybe everyone should just, you know, let the CSM and CCP work it out.

An apology that took 5 minutes to type down and post on the internet?

10 billion isk from the alliance fund of how much?

An apology on live tv?

It is a start.

But what happens next time?

Tbh I'd rather see Mittens stay than go. He's been good as a cyber-villain and I'd rather have someone like him at the head of the CSM than someone who's idea of EVE is to all hold hands and do a Level 4.

You goons really aren't saying anything apart from "la la la I'm not listening la la la" (and putting your hands over your ears while reading out prepared memes somebody else made earlier.)

You can't literally discount the views of a giant portion of the eve playerbase just because they're "you goons". .

Which is rather ironic given that Mittani himself discounted the views of anybody in an NPC corp and claimed they weren't real subscribers this very afternoon Cool

That's the most sensible post I've seen a goon make.

I think he should resign as chairman simply to avoid more bad feelings to spread, but that is his decision, however I am not calling on any drastic measures like banning him from EVE that would be a little excessive.

Everyone on both sides should probably calm down and take a step back.

I actually tried to watch the alliance panel live and it froze on me twice in the beginning and stopped watching. I just got done watching the entire thing twice. I will be surprised if you are not banned. Then again I guess this will tell a lot about CCP practices as well. Everyone makes mistakes. If this apology is actually sincere I applaud you for that.

To little to late VS the EULA I believe though. I hope 10k of goons and ALTS are not enough to bully CCP this time... I do not believe CCP should let this slide with letting you step down. It would not be the first time CCP has let someone step down or bow out on their own accord though. Guess we will see. GL if your gone.

It's seemed to me in my whole 12 hours of forum experience that that's the status quo. "If I shout it loud enough, it'll become the truth."

The truth is, unfortunately, the one thing nobody is really confronting:

Resignations promised: 1
Resignations: 0

I really hope CCP doesn't have to step in here (for business reasons or whatnot). I think it's important that The Mittani act of his own accord, and either step down or announce his intention to stay. In real-world politics we don't get to just replace our elected officials, but we definitely get to pressure them into action and if they refuse to take said action they don't get re-elected. This should be no different.

The social depth of this game is already making this noob very, very happy with his new gaming home. :)

But what happened at fanfest had nothing to do with "the mittani" the character. It was Alex gianturkeyo ripping on some other player as the leader of Eve's player council in the view of the cameras in a performance that was immediately replayed and analysed by the gaming press.

He did it as himself, the leader of the CSM. And as you are seeing from the responses of genuine independent eve players in this thread - its simply not acceptable.

You're kinda full of **** since it was the alliance panel and nothing to do with the CSM, he was speaking as the leader of Goonswarm, not as the leader of the CSM, there's a huge difference.

Thats wriggling Tyrrax and you are only saying it because you are a desperate goon wannabe at heart (but I forgive you)

When the leader of the CSM gets up on stage and acts like a drunken prat he's doing it as the leader of the CSM - I've been the chair of that organization myself and I know what the position entails and the example one is supposed to set to the community. If I had drunkenly slured out racist abuse on the alliance panel as SF Executor you can bet people wouldn't be standing up and saying "its okay Jade was doing it as an RP anarchist not the chair of the CSM!"

CFC Alliance funds are some of the most transparent out there, and if he siphons 10b to refill his coffers you can damn well bet some sperglord'll point it out. That post clearly had way more than 5 minutes spent on it, given he was immediately twittering the moment his plane hit he ground about how he felt like ****. Maybe if CCP feels it's needed the'll have him give a presentation on how sorry he is via EVE TV.

Maybe if he makes a drunken ******* of himself on EVE TV again in the future, then he gets banned, kicked, removed from the CSM. But not for a single mistake like this.
