I strongly urge all players to contact the proper authorities at CCP to ban Mittani for his recent actions. Such actions should not be allowed whoever you are or how big your alliance is. The only reason why Mittani acts and does the things he does is because of how big goons are. I believe that his actions have broken the EULA rules and thus deserves a ban.

Confirming someone's opinion is invalid because of what character they posted with Roll

Things are only impossible until they are not.

Mittani (leader of Goonswarm and chair of CSM 6 and 7) got drunk and suggested harassing someone who played the "I'm gonna kill myself" pity card on him at Fanfest, on camera. He has since apologized profusely for it, but some people have an axe to grind and won't stop stalking him.

Nope, I could not support any ban of Mittani.
His 3 steps will be more than enough.

Once he finished his step 2 ... it will be time to move on.

Nothing clever at this time.

He did the right thing and apologized. He resigned from CSM. I don't see any purpose to be served by a ban. Like them or not, the Goons have done a lot for the game, and Mittani is clearly a great player. I think this issue should be put to rest, as far as any issue on the forums ever is.

He posted his apology here. It seems sincere.

Let CCP and the CSM now sort out how to handle an issue like this where the standard response to ban his account has significant ramifications for the democratic process wherein many thousand accounts voted for Mittani.

Ya, if I did what Mittani did I would expect to get a ban. But I am not expected to hold an elected position either. It's a tricky situation. Mittani is not above the rules, but his elected position puts him in a sort of limbo. If you remove him from office, a lot of people who voted (and those votes are directly tied to real subscription/PLEX money) are disenfranchised.

Just let the apology and the official processes, whatever they may be or may become, find the proper answer.

This. The answer here is definitely not to engage in the same harassment that sparked this whole problem.

Precisely, OP.

There's a question that's been on my mind lately: Why can't The Mittani state the facts straightforwardly without their being exaggerated, aggrandized, altered, fiddled with, dressed up, falsified, and, in short, The Mittani-ized? I mean, The Mittani's bons mots are contrary to international human rights and humanitarian standards. First things first: The Mittani's cause is not glorious. It is not wonderful. It is not good.

Because of The Mittani's eagerness to participate in riots, the picture I am presenting need not be confined to his nostrums. It applies to everything The Mittani says and does. So maybe he's known for venting his hatred at anyone who dares to rage, rage against the dying of the light. Big deal. What's more important is that he says that national-security interests can and should be sidestepped whenever his personal interests are at stake. Hey, The Mittani, how about telling us the truth for once? Now that you've reached the end of this post, let me leave you with the key take-away message: We must continue to monitor The Mittani's fans and expose them as the carnaptious drongos they are.

If someone took an action as a CSM irl, they should be held accountable as a CSM irl. Person in question didn't violate the EULA in game. So there is no reason for them to be accountable in game.

Also, banning is a moot point because of ~alts~.
