In before the inevitable 80 page shitstorm.

I think all of this is caused by the fact some people, such as the Mitanni, often let their in-game personalities carry into real life which can be rather dangerous.

Do you really think that anyone takes people hiding behind an NPC alt serious?

I have to question the sincerity of this apology after reading your earlier posts about the incident. ~100058~. You said on twiter you were resigning, was that a troll? You need to stop pushing your personal agenda and dislike for Alex as a person using an honest actual drama as ammo mate.

It's unsightly, obvious and not nearly subtle enough for my approval.

Respect for the apology, you seem sincere there Alex. But I think for the good of the CSM project going forwards and for CCP's reputation in the wider gaming press you should resign as Chair at the minimum and allow another CSM member to take responsibility for leading the player council this year.

The CSM needs a leader with the respect of the player base at this point. You no longer have it.

Eve is coming to a far better state it was in the previous year and the future looks very optimistic. The last thing any of us need is to be reading about cyber-bullying and out of character abuse at fanfest when everyone involved with eve on the player or CCP side just needs to put the bad times behind us and get on with promoting and playing this game.

You worked in the interests of the player base last year Alex alongside the Jita and unsub protests to help CCP turn the ship around and sail out from under the spectre of microtransaction-crazy disaster. Let that be your legacy.

Now its time to resign as chair and let somebody else take a turn.

Meh....words are just that...words.

Meaningless and empty.

Let us know when you really take responsibility for your actions and resign.

Him being a **** dosent give me a pass to be one as well.

Resigning, however, still a desirable outcome.

It's been my opinion that one can see that a reason that CSM candidates (and members) are required to disclose their real names is that by doing so they acknowledge that they are no longer JUST their EVE character. Gaining a CSM position means that you carry responsibility for your words and actions as a person in the real world and that you should be careful to separate your EVE identity from the way you act as a CSM member. One should do that anyway if they aren't crazy, regardless of being on some player-elected council, of course... But I think that it's not optional with the CSM, and you should do it even if you're crazy or refrain from running.

The point is that in my eyes, Mittens, you hit the nail on the head when you said why it wasn't okay to say what you said, even if it wasn't meant seriously and even if it's something that's being said in game every day (if I had an ISK for every time someone in EVE told someone else to go kill themselves..!).

A sincere apology, but, you should resign as the position is not one that permits such license to target a private individual. If you're truly as honorable as you say, resign. You tarnish the office, and the players you represent and this event will not be forgotten by any of us; proponents or not.
