1. Disable any virus software you have running on your computer. Any real-time protection etc. You can re-enable it later.

2. Put the installer and the 'payload' (the files which have been downloaded - if any) in a folder somewhere easily accessible (desktop/documents etc).

3. Run the installer from there as administrator.

Post if you're still having problems.

Be sure you have room on your system disk for the extraction process as well as the additional room for installation.

New Installer/Launcher have known problems with some anti-virus software, specifically ESET/NOD32

Dont run registry cleaners. They rarely fix problems, and more frequently cause problems that you then need to solve by buying other products or using their forums etc etc. They are gimmicky software..

Download the 3 files from here, this way you dont need to re-download the installer every time you attempt to install. Make sure you run the installer here in the same folder with the 2 payload files.

Good one.

Do you have enough space on the hard drive?

Game install size : 18gb

Available: 435 gb

I have tried to put them into different folders. Even sometimes branching into different folders. I have uninstalled winrar and winzip and redownloaded them to see if they were corrupted and exited out of avg. Firewall is not active either. Did not work in c drive, d drive, f drive or g drive. I have 4 different types of hard disks on my computer and the installer did not work on either one of them it keeps giving me either, "an unknown error occurred when installing the payload" or " archive installation failed: 3" I have tried every single thing ccp has told me to do also.

The 3 files on the eve offline installer page I have download and they are all corrupted. The two extractable files when I double click to open them, they are corrupted and gives me an error whenever I try something with them

This is getting VERY irritating and VERY annoying. I want to play the game. I don't want to troubleshoot for hours upon hours of something stupid that should work in the first place. Something very very weird is going on here...and I need help and it's NOT my computer.

you haz to :(

guys...listen.

This is not a problem with the launcher, client or anything like that.

It is a problem with the INSTALLER. All methods I have been told by ccp to try have to do with the game being already installed. BUT THE GAME IS NOT INSTALLED!! NOTHING EVE RELATED IS ON MY COMPUTER.

It just says Archive Extraction failed: 3 EVERY time! This is REALLY getting me mad now!! X( I have stayed at my computer for 5 hours now trying to figure this out today!!!

Usually when the installer detects a download error it tries to run the repair tool anyway .

I'd advice deleting and retrying the download if you haven't already the installer appears to think its 'corrupt'

Did you try redownloading the installer? Also...what are your PC stats? Video card, RAM, CPU, all of it. Where are you running the installer from? Have you tried moving it to another folder or directory? Have you updated Windows fully? You might also want to try creating another Windows Login and install from there.

Something of this nature will be one of 3 things. You install of Windows. Your hardware, such as lack of HD space. Or it is the installer itself.

OK as far as I can understand you, you are downloading the full client install of Eve consisting of the Installer, and the 2 payload files.
You then place the files all together in a folder and on running the installer you receive corrupt file messages.
If you then try and open the payload files with say Winrar it also says the files are corrupt and it is not possible to fix them.

So what you have not stated is how you are downloading them, are you using http (i.e. IE 8 or 9, Firefox or Chrome) or are you using a download manager like FreedownloadManager?

Also are you on cable, ADSL, and or using a hardwired or WiFi connection, any or all of these could introduce errors in the data stream and corrupt the files (well except cable and hardwired, that would be most unlikely).

If you are downloading via http have you tried a different downloader to see if that is the cause of the corruption?

If you are on ADSL have you tried disabling the built in firewall while you are downloading the files, some use a SPI firewall and this can corrupt packets on the way through your router (if you don’t know how, then try and borrow another router and downloading with that).

When you have downloaded the payload files check them with Winrar and see if they open correctly without errors, if one does then save it to a separate folder and try downloading the other file again until you have a working set then try running the install again. Do not try and install the payload files unpacked the installer will do that for you as it installs them.

That’s about the best I can do, I wish you luck as I know how frustrating it can be.

My computer specs:

Intel core i7
8gb DDR3 RAM
Gigabyte motherboard
Nvidia gtx 285 evga
Windows 7 64 bit ultimate
2 500gb hitachi hard drives
2 1tb hitachi hard drives

I have 9 other mmos on this computer and a TON of games that I have downloaded from my browser which is opera. Every single exe has worked and I have never ever had a problem before. Even with the old exe 6 months ago when I played eve. Installed seemless.

I have made different folders in every single hard drive in every place imaginable (yes, I really did that) different destinations, different combonations of things. Still doesn't work! I have tried 3 different types of new user accounts I have made giving them all every permission as administrator. I have tried installing it in administrator account. I have tried other various methods in browsers. Have downloaded using, opera, chrome, IE8 IE9, firefox, and all have the same corrupt download. I have uninstalled all firewalls, avg, and everything else to that nature. I have tried to download from different sources. I have tried to explain to ccp what is going on but they can't figure it out. I am on a comcast 30mbps connection and things download instantaneously. I have disabled all firewalls to my computer through the router.

Why can't I just...go to the eve site, download where it says "eve for windows" and just....let it install. Why? Why can't I just fly my harbinger again. Just get this working for me...please. This is rediculous!

Am I the only one this is happening to...What is going on with this installation? Everything else downloads JUST FINE and installs. I have over 30 games on my rig and nothing ever got corrupted...except eve.

just download the damn thing again and take it from there, stop trying to beat your head against the wall by using the corrupted file over and over and hoping you'd get a different result.

Your errors clearly state your downloaded files are corrupt.

Try downloading again. DIfferent time of day.
Use the offline download if you have a poor connection.

The files fetched from the CDN are borked. You need to file a petition to get it sorted. If you can try to get the IP of the CDN server you download the installer from and provide your public IP as well.

Try running the repair tool. Failing that look for any file in the Eve folder with the .patch ending and delete it and retry.

This, download the latest repair tool then:

Be sure you have no other open window/browser/program/pørn/whatever

Be sure you have an exception for the repair tool and eve.exe+updater in your FW and AV

Be sure you have updated your Net.framework to the latest version.

Reboot your computer and then launch the repair tool. If it doesn't work, just dl the whole thing.

Ok...listen.

There is nothing on my computer of eve. There is nothing I can use of any repair tool whatsoever. I don't have any other windows open at all except the eve install. I have an exception in firewall for everything that has to do with every eve installation on my computer. My computer is fully updated to the latest. I have tried rebooting my computer...I don't have a repair tool nor ANYTHING inside the eve folder because nothing installs. Why doesn't anybody get that....nothing...nadda...zilch installs for eve. No exe files, no repair files, no folders. Just ccp, then blank folder...

CCP, I suggest calling your suicide hotline to help this person out. He is obviously very troubled.

Also, get the CSM chair (whoever is next in line after The Mittani) to resign over this person being unable to install Eve.

Hold on to your hooves, I am about to be BRILLIANT!

have you put in that petition? you also need to remember they need to find the problem with your computer as this would be very hard to do it would be like finding a needle in a hay stack.

i would also ask that they re-set your account time if you can finally play if you can not then ask for your money back.

also it sounds like your not getting all the packets from the download server.
