Does a ship maintenance array allow me to repair ships at my POS?

Didn't say anything about that in the description so that's why I'm asking.

Nope

This.

So instead, just keep one each of armor and hull reppers on hand and then temporarily fit them as-needed.

Kind of?

As mentioned above, the Ship Maintenance Array does not *directly* repair ships. It does, however, have a fitting service which allows you to change your fit in space. If you have an armor/hull repairer in your cargohold, you can use it to fit them so you can repair your ship.

And Nanite paste for damaged mods.

Not kind of. No.

It has fitting services. No repair services. You cannot repair anything with one (including mods, drones etc)

You do have to admit that the fitting services are very convenient if you are in a shield tanked ship and need to repair some armor without a station anywhere nearby.

I am not saying anything negative about the fitting services. But they arent repair services. If you want to repair modules you will need nanite paste. If you want to repair hull or armor damage you will need to fit the appropriate module and sit there watch it repair. If you have damaged drones you will have to fit the appropriate rr modules, go fly off to a safe spot and rep them up.

Also, one other FYI. The ship maintenance array will not recharge your shields or cap. If you store a ship at 50% shields and 50% cap,and the next day you take it out, it will still be at 50%.

Picture it: you are in a wormhole in an Orca with a great deal of structure damage, and all you have are 2 small structure reppers.

Been there. Done that. It took a loooooooog time to repair! Ever since then I always made sure to keep a full assortment of shield / armor / structure reps at the POS.

True, But still a far better option than flying 10 jumps or more through null to get to a station/outpost were you can repai

A few minutes running repair modules inside the safety of a POS shield, and some nano paste you are good to go. Since you need the SMA to fit the repair modules it is, however inefficient, a place you can perform repairs. most corps I have been in have several sets of repair mods in the corp hanger, but you can even put the repair mods in a GSC anchored beside the SMA. Shields and cap recharge on there own sitting inside the safety of the POS shield. only risky repair is remote repairing drones but personally I usually just replace them. keep a stock of them in the corp hanger and you can swap them out using the fitting service as wel

My point is even though repairs at a POS with a SMA are not near as efficient as at a station or outpost it is possible. there are no stations or outposts in wormholes, this is how it is done there.
