I think this discussion isn't the right discussion we should be having...

Yes what.... certain members of the CSM may or may not have said, and the reaction thereof may be unwarranted. I don't think that is the discussion that SHOULD be taking place.

Yes EVE is a game, a game should be fun. But. Sometimes a game is more than just "having fun" sometimes it IS an escape from whatever problems said player is having, been there, done that myself. In this day and age (ya, I am old, so are a lot of other players) when we grew up, we didn't have this social networking system that we have today. The closest we had was our weekly D&D games or such.

To the CSM, you have to realize, that while you are players, you are more... public than most other players.

To CCP, I do not know what kind of ... Public services you have available to said individuals, or what kind of actions can be taken towards this kind of thing short of TOS enforcement, but I would like to think that CCP cares about its playerbase more than just whats in their wallets.

To Everyone else, if you have a problem, Talk about it, talk about it to your family, your friends, even your corpmates, someone, if you need to talk about something, someone will listen. EVE Online players are not ALL assholes and dickheads, a lot of us are actually very nice people. :)

So we should ask for a psych evaluation of every pilot before we blow up their ship?

Perhaps taking one yourself may be well adviced given todays posting history

What you idiots don't seem to remember:

1. It was the alliance panel, not the CSM panel.
2. At that point on Thursday he was an end-of-term CSM awaiting the results of the election, not a CSM 7 electee yet.
3. Not responsible for the escapism mechanism of emotionally disturbed individuals on the internet.

Anyone who makes a post asking to kick Mittani is just regurgitating rhetoric that they heard from another player or in another thread. they are asking for him to be kicked because they hear about how "bad, nasty and mean" Mittens is and take this as truth. They they, blindly and ignorantly, follow the pack so they fit in with everyone.

People who publicly claim to want to kill themselves are just crying for mommy and daddy to give them more hugs. Any one who is half way intelligent, and doesn't have their head in the clouds, knows this. Its why they tell people to "LOOK FOR SIGNS" of suicidal behavior because genuine suicidal people don't make their intentions public. Mittens just harped on this fact and apparently all the softies got mad.

2. It's still the same person.
3. He still sought to provoke him, and that's a sick thing to do.

Wrong again.

For the record, that mail wasn't even sent to The Mittani. It's part of a highlight reel of pubbie keyboard mashing that we've got.

no. you should just activate your common sense and know when to stop if you obviously deal with people which have problems

how to fix eve: 1) remove ECM 2) rename dampeners to ECM 3) add new anti-drone ewar for caldari 4) give offgrid boosters ongrid combat value

As I mentioned in the other thread, the fact that a player may or may not have said that will commit suicide, is beyond the point.

The subject is, whether or not it was right for another player to try to encourage others, to push said player in to commiting suicide, and what should be done about it...

because its easier for a new thread instead of shifting though 1000's of "Ban Mittani" posts? Might be a hunch there :)
