Unless/until CCP decides to fix it, is there any way we, the players, can combat bot miners?

You can press the search button up top there and type in bot. Then reply to one of the other threads on the same subject that's been beat to death already.

kill a lot of miners? maybe find some way to figure out which ones aren't players first?
I mine sometimes and I'd rather not have to warp away everything some fool thinks he's setting up a warp in for his friends. Which happened a few times in the last few days.
Just an fyi to those people: Sitting exactly 50km or 100km away from a fleet of hulks is a bit of a hint.

1) Fit a Cane with 800/1600mm plates and a 100 MWD.
2) Smack Hulk out of belt. 100k should be fine.
3a) If hailed, apologise and move on...
3b) If no reaction go to step 4
4) Keep smacking Hulk. If he warps to station and comes back.... Repeat from Step 2 until you are bored
5) If still no reaction and Hulk continues to warp back, r-click pilot name and report.

He is absolutely definitely a bot.

The system in place there I mine works like this:

1) Find group of miners.
2) Bounce one.
3) No response in local so send chat requests all at once to all the miners in the group from the one character.
4) No response from chat requests ergo: OMG BOTS!
5) Attack him so he can salvage 1 unit of Metal Scraps when we die.

As if it'd want to talk to people behaving like that towards me.

WHat would be, generally speaking, the minimum ship type/class skill point level for someone to solo suicide a hulk in High-Sec?

You know, that'd be a pretty lame reason for not responding.

If your swarm of 200m Hulks isn't worth going, "ok, ok, I get what you're doing" in local then well... hmmm.....

What do you expect people to think?

Nonetheless, the giveaway is not the response, the giveaway is the warp to station and back several times without a response.

He is absolutely definitely NOT, he maybe a bot.

If some idiot did that to me I would rinse and repeat just to see who broke first. Then I would petition CCP for harassment.

Or just move systems,

Think man. If you were NOT a bot, why would you do this? It defies HUMAN reasoning and logic.

Why are you people looking for reasons and ways to gauge high-sec miner's reaction?

If its mining in high-sec then it's either (read, definatly) a bot, or someone who desperatly needs to be snapped out of it by a smartbombing rokh.

This is not true. I run a Hulk on Screen 2 (or a Mack) while I am "doing my thing" on Screen 1. Screen 2 pays for Screen 1.

It's the people trying to pay for Screen 9 with Screens 8,7,6,5,4,3,2 and 1 that get on my case. Kill 'em all...

Performing repetitive monotonous tasks for hours on end like mining makes you crazy. I thought everyone knew that.

I have 6 accounts (was 8) and 9 screens*. I've always paid by credit card. I only play 4 accounts theses days 'cause I'm getting too old to coordinate anymore than that.

*9th screen is of course reserved for p0rn as any right thinking person knows.
