Hi, I'm trying to improve my skills, wallet, and experience to run incursions, so I want to start a bit lower down since I'm far from ready for incursions. I've got a fit armor logi exequror, but I can also make an osprey (shield), augoror (energy), or God forbid, a scythe. I can fly all tech 1 ships up through battlecruiser, as well as caldari battleships and all minmatar t2 frigates, though I won't be willing to enter your space in anything more expensive than a t1 cruiser until I get to know you a bit better.

I've got experience fighting class II and class III sleepers in a drake in the past, though I'm more interested in flying support ships if possible -- I understand logistics but lack field experience. I can fit almost all modules up to tech 2, but only tech 1 weapons.

Message me in-game or send me a mail if interested! I usually hang out in Gallente space or Fountain region, but I might be able to meet up with you just about anywhere.

Could I suggest a slightly different approach?

T1 logi is ... well it's a bit meh.

Useful in PVP but an Osprey / Exequror won't work as solo logi in a sleeper site, and in the sites where you would need them, you'd need a second (who heals the healers?) and you get the problem of T1 logi being very very squishy compared to its T2 brethren, and so almost useless in any PVE situation where it would be required. You can kinda play tag along on sites that don't *really* need it, as it may let someone fit more gank instead of tank, but it's a marginal thing at best. I trained an alt to pretty much do exactly this, and concluded shipping said alt into a DPS ship (for C2 / C3 sites) was by far the better option.

There's nothing to stop you taking a 'cane into an Incursion as DPS, whilst you wait to train up T2 logi.

FOTM is to run shield, and with that, the Basilisk - so if Incursion logi is your goal, aim there.

Logistics trained to 5 is going to help out, too.

I guess Iw ant to do logistics for fun more than anything else. It's going to be several months most likely before I can fly a logistics ship and at the current rate, even longer till I can afford one. I just always felt that a t1 ship had to be useful somehow. They seem severely underpowered but I don't think they're quite as bad as they're made out to be. The worst part might just be that it's difficult to get a large enough group of t1 logistics to effectively spider tank anything. By the time you get 2 of em, you've already got someone willing to fly a real logistics ship.

Well, even a tech 2 logi can't do it alone, so maybe someone who has only one logi will invite me along? =)

You don't have the resists / EHP of a T2 logi, so you getting popped in the site and leaving the rest of the ships with insufficient backup is a serious risk. Add that you get scrammed in WH anoms, and you can easily cause the loss of ships worth a lot more than yours.

I'm not saying don't try or anything, but chances are you'd be more useful to the people you're flying with to be in a ship dealing damage, or spider tanking.

C1 / C2 sites can be solo'd easily. (try making your ISK here)
C3 sites CAN be solo'd - but you tend to just use multiple ships that passive shield tank, and the sleepers swapping targets nullifies the need to actually use RR / logistics (join the group in a drake)
C4 you need a logi pair, and you run into the issues above.
C5 / C6 .... yeah it's no use pretending the Osprey won't just get insta-popped.

Given your very limited roles, you'd be hard pressed outside of generous corp mates to find someone to fly with who would consider splitting income with you (if they could solo it anyway, why split it with you?).

You can probably operate as logi outside of Incursion / Sleeper AI. Find someone who can't tank the mission they're running (or could fit a lot more gank to make it worthwhile) and let them grab the aggro, then be their tank whilst they apply DPS. Since you would be effectively reducing their ISK/hr from the split, you'd need to do this with someone who wanted to help.
