I'm one of the really old bittervets and fervent forumwhores yet I must confess having never read your description of our vicious yet beloved game before. I like it! Lol

@OP, geez grow a backbone, mr. Passive-Agressive! The best lessons are usually the most expensive ones. Being rich is just boring, because either there's little challenge left except farming killmails, or you' become too afraid to gamble even a penny of your wealth.

Oh and please go and play some Roguelike-genre games. They will make you cry even more.

When I got started out, I basically got "reset" a few times due to my own recklessness and the fact that I was tagging along with players that had been in the game a bit longer than me. I was nowhere near 16 million SP at that point, but I dealt with the frustration of losing a shiny new ship and not having the cash to replace it, forcing me to work with something much less useful while I recovered.

Every loss is a lesson. You got scammed. Lots of people do in their first year of Eve. I'm a naturally suspicious person and never bit on any of them, but I was certainly tempted by a few. Don't let it happen to you again.

Surely by now you've heard the adage "don't fly what you can't afford to lose." That certainly applies to the Tengu you lost and couldn't afford to replace, but I'd take that a step further and say don't risk what you can't afford to lose. Don't put all of your money and assets on the line to join a corp. You wouldn't give a total stranger all your belongings for a chance to join their club (unless it's a cult and you're a sucker). Apply that same logic here. Always have something in reserve.

5 minutes of research can save alot of people from losing isk and falling for all the scams in eve especially the goon scam heck they say themselves they scam people big red letters on their wiki first page of their wiki is a link that says joining goons 101 click that and right at top of page are the big red letters hell theres probaly like a 1000 topics in these forums about the goonswarm scam.

it sucks you lost 500 mil a tengu and a drake instead of calling it quits because of that you should be thinking of ways to get revenge and become a thorn in their sides join an alliance that hates the goons which im sure there are plenty out there and blow up their ships at every opportunity you get.

So, you are just like those people who refuse to donate their organs after a car accident.

You are a real ****-sucker. Get lost, Eve doesn't need people like you around.

Good players would learn their lesson, continue to play and plan their revenge and a year or two later, would strike back.
Bad players would just leave.

Honestly though... just quit. Don't tell us why you're quitting, we're being 100% honest when we say that we don't care why you're quitting one bit if you're not giving us your stuff.

So much QQ. If this is causing you to quit EVE, you weren't a good fit for it anyways.

It happens in every online game, where players can share items, so my might as well stay. For example, you play with a party of people and get to know each other, one of them asks you to help him out with items or gold, you help out and the next day have they forgotten who you are and do not care to pay anything back either. Or you join a guild, make friends and play for a good time with when suddenly the guild leader decides that he only wants his best buddies in his guild and kicks you out together with 50 other players. It really happens everywhere and all the time. It happens in real life, too, and you should consider yourself glad to have made this lesson in only a game. You will not get your stuff back, they will likely not hold on to it for long either when they have to go to such lengths, so you should take it as a very expensive lesson on how to make the right friends.

Loss is meaningful. Therefore is the loss of meaning likewise meaningful. It is the source of all trolling.

Sad is the wrong word.

Happy is the word.

This is no way to leave a game Pete. You get back in there and make a comeback damn it. The stuff you lost is nothing if you find a few people to fly with, And you will find them if your patient. Things like this have to happen to people. It just does, Do not ask why.

Consider this a lesson learned and move on. Its prolly best it happened this way anywho.

Signatures wer cooler when we couldn't remove them completely.
