I have looked all over the EVE forums and the EVE website, and I can't find an official summary of new info from FanFest.

I don't think it's because I am stupid. Part of my job is to conduct research for a top 50 global research center...

So either

A) Fan Fest sucked and nothing new was released or announced

or

B) the Devs once again screwed up and need to hire a semi-competent PR team.

CLARITY PEOPLE. CLARITY.

The nerfs to supercaps will cause more super pilots to join the largest alliances who can properly "support" their deployment, further concentrating firepower/wealth in EVE. The end result will be fewer "fun" fights, and will hurt EVE in the long run.

There are excellent unofficial summaries on the forums.

CCP showed off a load of shiny things along with "in jokes"\"internet memes" and theatrical trailers.

Newer players (those under a year or two old) drooled over the shiny and glittery and fully bought in to the promisses of cake.

Older players wondered why there was limited in game footage and compared "look we're making mining all new and exciting" to the claim that walking in station would involve all sorts of shops\casinos\fleet planning\awesomeness and ended with a sofa and a TV.

/pessimism

I know, I know, bitter and twisted I am.
I really hope that things that were mentioned actually come to fruition before the end of time but then I'll not hold my breath and just expect small changes\fixes instead.

Reykjavik had a party.

CCP had fun, invited those of us who could afford to take the time off work.

Many rumors were started.

None of them involved Punkturis and a phot copier.. that I saw anyway.

We came to the conclusion that the CSM is irrelevant, especially with Mr. Goonswarm at the table & that the wh guy had a neat presentation. Don't you just love watching DRUNK people do presentations? I certanly do not.

I'm a Mormon too....but only in Second Life.

In RL I'm a Muslim. No booze but up to four wives...now that's hardcore.

How much we talking? I know mormons, I'm quite far from one.

I also find it interesting how you jump to the conclusion just like that, maybe you're the Mormon here?

Besides the fact that I know nothing about you, no I did not.

Mind telling me more about yourself? You seem like an interesting individual.

Summary: new things were presented in a way that suggest they might actually want to talk to us before forging ahead and implementing them. Some of it is shiny, some if it is very inside-baseball, some of it is fundamental and some of it is just surface. Either way, it's almost as if… *gulp*… they've begun communicating.

Be afraid.

Massively didn't send me to Fanfest this year, but I rounded up most of what was streamed in this week's EVE Evolved, which had to be split in two because it was that big:
http://massively.joystiq.com/2012/03/25/eve-evolved-new-info-from-fanfest-2012/
http://massively.joystiq.com/2012/03/25/eve-evolved-extra-revamping-pvp-in-inferno/

As I wasn't actually at Fanfest, we weren't able to interview anyone to answer any important questions raised by the talks, and we have no idea what was said in the roundtables. Which is a big shame, because the wardec and faction warfare talks seemed like half-baked ideas that CCP was throwing out there in order to get feedback at the roundtables.
