Question about data core research and BPO copying

Couple related questions...

Does the number of research (data core) jobs I have running with agents decrease the number of BPO copies I can be working on, and vice-versa? Or are they unrelated to each other?

What does the Advanced Laboratory Operation skill get me? It doesn't increase the number of research / data core operations I can do at once, right? Is it related to how many BPO copies I can do at a time?

What about BPO improvement, does performing that take away from BPO copy slots I can work?

I think this will answer your questions:

The Research Project Management skill will determine how many research agents you can work with simultaneously (for data cores). It doesn't effect any other science/industry aspects of the game currently.

The laboratory operation and advanced laboratory operation skills both increase the number of research jobs you can be running simultaneously. Research jobs include:


  • Blueprint copying
  • Material efficiency research
  • Production efficiency research
  • Invention


You can have any combination of those jobs, up to 11 total, running simultaneously if you have advanced lab operation trained to 5.

That's exactly what I hoped to understand, thanks!

So to be clear if I have all the right skills trained I could have 6 research data core jobs running plus 11 BPO copies going, for example. Right?

It's more common to get Advanced Lab operation to 4 and if you've got the space on your account to roll up another alt, to train that one up for Lab use too, since it takes quite a while to get Advanced Lab op from 4 to 5, so unless you've got lots of funky science skills that you use for invention, you could probably roll up another char and get that trained up for advanced lab ops before you get your main from 4 to 5.

Have a look at evemon and see how it works out, you might be able to have 2x10 rather than 1x11 Lol
