Orca Questions

OK not sure if I'm posting in correct place for this but here goes. My Cousin gave me his 3 Eve accounts so I'm trying to learn the game. So I'm really a newbie and have only been playing a couple of weeks.

I have an Orca.

I have two fully equipped Hulks that I own in her Maintenance bay. The same character owns the Orca and two Hulks (Is this wrong?)

I launch both Hulks to mine asteroids. I choose to "Board" Hulk "A". I start mining with Hulk A. I then Board Hulk "B" and start mining. I notice when I activate Hulk B, Hulk A stops mining.

So I assume you can't control the Orca and Two Hulks at once. So I tried putting my friends Hulk in my Orca but says I cannot as I'm not piloting friend's Hulk.

So my question is "How do I use the Orca to mine using two separate Hulks in my Maintenance bay?" "Can I mine with two hulks that belong to me or can I add two friends Hulks into my Orca?"

I've look in the Evelopedia and ISK guide but can't find what I seek. My cousin can't help. Can anyone please explain? Much appreciated :)

A ship needs a pilot in order to make it work, so you'll need three pilots to make your plan work.

Orca pilot sits in the orca and is a ore dumpster,

Alt 1 (on second accout, yes you'll be running 3 game clients at the same time) flys to the orca and pulls the hulk out of the maintaince bay, starts to mine

Alt 2 Same as the first

Now you have three toons on three acounts mining happily till the genetically enhanced livestock come home.

That is why he had three accounts the ships won't act like drones, they need a pilot in them to work.

MMOs come and go, but Eve remains.  -Garresh-

I foresee great hilarity and a stolen ship or two in this pilot's future.

CCP should add more NPC 0.0 space to open it up and liven things up: the Stepping Stones project.

Thank you. So i move the orca to the Asteroid belt with the two hulks inside? Then do I fly a shuttle to the orca and "board" my hulks? Sorry just a bit confused but I think I understand. cheers!

Bring Orca to belt, have orca pilot chill in the middle, pilot b get in one hulk, pilot c get in the other. mine ore, dump into orca. Never ever leave a hulk just sitting in space without a pilot, it can be stolen. if this is too confusing, have the pilots already in the hulks before you leave station, have three clients running, and warp everyone to the belt and mine and be happy.

LOL yeah u may be right ...maybe I should make a brand new character and learn the game before i use my cousins equipment. My cousin gave me 2 orcas and 5 hulks and a couple of battleships. So maybe I am trying to run before I walk.

just to clarify, when you say 3 accounts do you mean, you have 3 usernames and passwords or the one account with 2 other alts?
If the latter, you cant do what you hope. If the first, then sweet as.

Careful here. My IRL friend left EVE for good and gave me his accs. All of them got banned not long after I started logging them in. GM response to the following petition concluded that the ONLY way of obtaining access to those characters is via the Character Transfer option, as long as it's not "next-of-kin" who uses the account. Which, as far as I know, a cousin is not.

To be 100% frank with you here, you are about to lose access to all 3 accounts. You are in violation of the EULA by using them.

Furthermore, given you are effectively trying to learn to drive in a F1 car, you may as well start yourself off on a trial to work out what you are doing.

All that is going to happen (even if you are not banned) is you will be taken for a ride because you don't know what you are doing.

Having multiple accounts is not against the rules, hell its even something ccp supports with the "power of two" campaign.

Having multiple accounts is not the EULA violation. Taking control of the accounts from another person without using the "Character Transfer" procedure is the violation.

A. EULA violation... an account always only belongs to the original owner. Only characters can be transferred following the official guidelines.

B. I find two hulks and an orca being flown by one character I'll jump in the orca and scoop one of the hulks... or two if you leave it unmanned in a panic. Thanks for the ships!

You would need three accounts all simultaneously logged in to pull that off.

According to the EULA, the owner of the account cannot just simply handover his or her account information to another person. That would be illegal as per the EULA set by CCP Games.

Now, there is a gray area somewhere in there. Usually, it's pretty damn clear that it's illegal for two people who haven't even met in person to share account information on Eve Online. Case in point, when a prominent leader of a null-sec alliance asks for your account information to access your Titan character. Even if the owner of the account allowed access willingly, it is still against the rules of the game.

The gray area is when close family members are involved. Case in point, when the owner allows his or her sibling to try out the game in their own account. Even then, CCP can still ban the account for this assuming they find out in some way such as when its mentioned on the forums or in the middle of an in-game chat conversation where everything is logged. Other than that, it's extremely difficult to say for certain if accounts have been shared in the case of two siblings.

I guess the reason CCP considers both cases as targets for a ban hammer is because Eve Online presents an emotional environment in which people pursue personal vendettas against the other player who wronged them usually by accessing the account of the owner who wronged them and ruining everything. People are also known to be inconsiderate by misusing the accounts of the owner who gave them access.

I have heard plenty of horror stories from people who played WoW, WoT, and Eve Online who had their accounts ruined because they were complacent about what their friends or loved ones would do to their accounts.

Please consider the EVE Online EULA, which states under section 2A:

"You may not share your Account with anyone, or allow anyone other than you personally (or your minor child, if you have registered an Account on behalf of your minor child) to access or use your Account. Joint or shared ownership or use of an Account by more than one user is prohibited. "

In other words, dont violate EULA.

If you do, dont admit it in public.
