Shield compensation skills affect all shield modules?

I'm sure I'm reading way to much into these skills but this has bothered me for months now.

Now I know these skills wouldn't affect an active/passive shield module if it did not have any skill specific resistance, but for example does your skill level in kinetic shield compensation, Thermic Shield Compensation, etc. increase the shield resistances of say Invulnerability Field II or Damage Control II? Or do the resistance specific shield skills only affect shield hardeners of their specific shield types (Kinetic shield compensation only benefits for example Kinetic deflection field I).

Effects invuln when inactive.

Does not effect D/C.
