An Open Letter to all Capsuleers
hello, you might know me from my candidacy for CSM6,
where my main platform was 3rd party development.
during those elections i reached place 17 with 769 votes.

If you dont know me from there, you might know me as one of the
"3rd party guys" who writes software all arround eve.

Today however i speak to you from one player to another.

Sadly, for personal reasons i cannot run as a candidate this year,
and looking at this years candidates i get scared a bit, since
most options look like a clear no-go to me.

Be it Mittens who has the wellfare of Goonswarm at his heart,
and not the game,
or Riverini who's interest is clearly in getting more people to
read his fanfiction site evenews24 - only then his banners will pay off.

both are candidates which have high chances of getting alot of votes,
and both have other interests in being CSM chairman than
the good of the game.

Honestly, i wish i could vote for someone running on a plattform like mine
last year, but frankly, i don't see any other option than to pick
someone who is reasonable and might have a chance against those two.

So, this year i will support Elise Randolph, who has allready served
a year as CSM, and who i truly believe to be the best option this year.

If you love this game, do the same. Vote for Elise Randolph as chair of the CSM.

best regards,

Peter "Peter Powers" Petermann.

Of all the candidates that are running, I think I have the most 3rd party EVE development experience. I am presenting some of my stuff at Fanfest during the Dev track, but I built:
1) A mapping/scanning site for my wormhole corp
2) An integrated POS tracker
3) A corp "shopping list" for requesting items from empire
4) Customized the eve-dev killboard at http://dontshootx.com/killboard/ including submitting patches to mods that broke during version upgrades

I do fully support Elise, but you might want to re-think your "no 3rd party dev candidates" line.

i'm aware of you (and some others) doing some 3rd party stuff as well,
but none of you really take too much part in the
3rd party community or its discussions.

that said, as i mentioned, by the candidates i look on at the moment,
i don't think those are the reasons i can base my endorsement on.

i'm aware that you are most likely the best wh-candidate, if i may call you that;
but looking at who are the big names (no offense) this year, i don't want to convince
people to vote for you, since that might distract votes from someone that actually
has a chance to get chair. (again no offense).

i wish you the best of luck with your candidacy though!

regards,
PP

Gave them a Like, which they didn't need but will either not vote or I will vote against there being a CSM entirely this year. Ugh

EVE is becoming shallow and puerile; it will satisfy neither the veteran nor the "WoW" type crowd in the transition.

not voting is voting for those who can motivate their userbase.
and you cant vote against having CSM - no option for that

Thank you Darius and Goons for ably demonstrating why you don't deserve a vote unless one wants the CSM to be a joke.

In spite my name sake, I've come to respect several candidates and even current CSM. Although Hans is currently my favorite candidate, we could do far worse than Elise and Two-step, who are both strong candidates and worthy of serving.

Thank you Mr Powers for the 3rd party developer view point.

EDIT: Not to be considered a slam against candidates not mentioned.

While I ran as a potential protest vote, I have to agree. Not voting as a way to show opposition just seems daft and counterproductive to me. Indistinguishable from apathy.

Thank you for demonstrating that you are a joke. CSM6, chaired by The Mittani and also featuring notorious goon Vile Rat, was the first CSM that wasn't a joke.

I like that I now have people working on client performance.
I like that I now have people seriously thinking about ship balancing.
