The community has really gone to sh-- around here since I started playing eve. Looks like the only folks left playing are the bitter, paranoid ones. I'd happily help you, with no risk to myself, but I don't have CN standings. Good luck! I agree that the tone most are taking in this thread is somewhat disheartening and disturbing.

BTW, if any of you paranoid types wanna buy some boosters, look me up. I sell all types.

The biggest issue is that there are a lot of people who post without thinking, searching for an answer that's already out there, or trying to do it themselves. This leads do a buildup of "this thread again?" frustration. So, yes, there is some more annoyance going around, but I blame it on an influx of idiots who are too lazy to think before posting.

But why do people perpetuate a threads longevity by posting nonsense rather than posting an answer? Sometimes an answer is shorter than the rant about how stupid the OP is…

Anyway, bump for her boosters…

Rather than give a man a meal, I'll try to teach him to fish, whether he just asked me for a meal or not (that way he's not begging me,or others, for more meals). Learning to research information is a crucial part of EvE, and rather than simply feed the laziness when people continually ask the same questions over and over (i.e. filters when cruicible launched), we inform them that the answer is out there.

Don't you think you should've posted this in the correct thread rather than making a whole new thread about it? You big fat electron waster!

I've been playing longer, I'd assume, so I'll throw this out: it goes in waves. Sometimes you get weeks, or even months, of fairly solid advice and entertaining disagreement. And let's face it, a well-executed flame war is nothing if not entertaining.

Right now we're in a slump. Flames have gotten lazy and formulaic and helpful responses are often clouded by waves of people with well-known positions chiming in for the umpteenth time. And it's true: there have also been a whole ton of lazy questions out there of late as well. Neither really helps things.

But you know what really, really doesn't help? Bitching about it. Want a better forum community? Make it happen. You're not the only one. In fact, most people seem to support a higher caliber of discussion when it happens, even when they vociferously disagree elsewhere.

Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day. Beat him about the head with a fish, and he'll be confused and possibly have strange headaches for the rest of his life.

LOL!! And where, outside antique classic Monty Python ( and also ), am I ever gonna stumble across bizarre gems like this.

OP ... a waste of space, but the rare occasional response worth reading.

I guess I am almost a 'vet' by now. Hopefully not too bitter and managing to help more than I hinder. I build and sell many things, including large collections of bookmarks.
