Very nice Tool.

I wish it had the options of reading prices from the evecache like some programs do.

This may seem like a newb question, but can anyone explain to me how the following Price Types work:
"Average" anything, is it a 30 day average?
Buy & Sell anything... like "Maximum Buy and Sell for example"

Thanks in advance

Pretty sure it's per day. The Buy & Sell is the maximum of the buy and sell prices, not just one.

It's provided by the EVE Central API, not sure if anyone uses it but wanted to include the options if anyone did.

Hey Zif
Every-time I start the program it says there is a update available, pressing yes to the question and goes to search - returning with Error:file not found

A small problem from a fantastically useful industrial tool

I am aware of my own ignorance and have checked my emotional quotient - thanks for asking

New update.

Build 2.0.4418.30303

  • Updating the runs from selecting a new decryptor will now update the number of bp's and lines correctly
  • Added "Include T2 BPCs" and "T3 BPCs" to the Manufacturing grid when "Owned BPs" checked to allow further filtering of BP's
  • Default ME/PE values will no longer apply to Storyline, Pirate, Navy, or T3 Blueprints
  • The Calculate button on the Manufacturing screen will now reset to 'Calculate' from 'Refresh' if you update prices, data, etc in another screen
  • The Blueprint Combo on the Blueprints Tab will now suggest blueprints by typing in the blueprint name and allow arrow selection from that suggested list
  • Switching from Buy Blocks and Build Blocks will now update the POS prices
  • You can now enter a price for starbase charters to POS settings

Thanks Zif, updated correctly.

Would like to ask a question on the "optimal" capability of the tool - where it picks a component price above a raw material price. Say I want to build a Nyx and look at the "Optimal" method. The tool specifies that buying 2 or 3 ready made components off the market is more cost efficient however, it bases that assumption on the price of the cheapest sell of which there is only 1 or 2 at that price, not the 128 or 504 that I need.

For the best result, what setting would I chose when I import the prices?

I am aware of my own ignorance and have checked my emotional quotient - thanks for asking

Quick question. If I'm looking at a component using item (say a T2 Expanded Cargohold) and I have none of the required component BPOs but I put assume 30/15 into the temp box, does the program assuming I have all the component BPOs at 30/15 or at 0/0? Also if I have none of the relevant invention/reverse engineering skills but am using the manufacturing tab to evaluate potential profitability how does the program handle it (does it assuming 4/4/4 or something)?

Good catch! This is indeed an issue. I'll tinker around with the options but I think this might be the best I can do. The price data doesn't return the volume for the lowest priced item, I think, so I'm not sure what the solution is here. Given this could happen with all prices so I'll take a look at what I can do.

If you set default ME/PE values in the settings, it will use that value for any BP you do not own, including components for T2 items, etc.

Yes, I use level 4 for all associated skills if you do not have them to calculate the "typical cost."

You can add say, &minQ=1000 to the eve central url and it will only return the min/max price for orders above 1000 units, but in practice its not very useful because each material of each item would require a different volume setting, and it would be cruel to eve-central to pull prices for each item.

This may be a bug only I experience not sure but you can try to recreate it.

If you goto the blueprint tab, load up a blue print, and delete all numbers in the "Additional Cost" box and either "click out" of the box to highlight something else, or press refresh, the client will crash.

Great program enjoying it so far.

Yep. Thought I fixed that earlier. No biggy, I'll get it up next patch. Thanks!

Would I be rich and powerful, I would give you half my money for that. With the previous version I was able to construct a manufacturing plan capable or racking up 1B per month - which multiplied my initial investment by ten. Unfortunately RL issues prevented that, so you will earn a +1 - your 200th one - until I can safely reward you with the PLEX you deserve.

Thank you.

Just think... if Zifrian thought :
"If I was an ultimate programmer and I could make an app that combines EVEMEEP and Invention Calc, JMLCALC and EVEHQ and EVEMON + 1000 other features I have in mind I'd make one and release it to the public. But, RL standing in my way, and I can only create so much in so little time. Until I can get that time and skills to do that, I'll just give people tips on how to choose items to build"

If that was the case, we'd never have this wonderful app called EIPH that saved and continues to saves us oh so many hours. There is no rule that the donation has to equal the effort and quality of the work. They have sales prices for that. GIve what you can mate, and if you can/want in the future, you can give more. I'm sure Zifrian won't take to offense if you give him 5m even if his app is worth 5bil.

Sorry to get the thread of topic, but I think the more ISK we donate the more time Zif will have to further develop this beautiful app :)

I'm sure not understanding how you are figuring total invention cost but I'm as of right. If I hover over total invention cost:

Average Successful Invention Cost = Datacores+Decryptors+Install Fees.

I pick an item say Medium Cargohold Optimization II Blueprint.

I import Jita min buy prices. I select Assembly Instructions as my decryptor.

Total Invention Cost = 8,725,820.81.

I bounced over to my prices and check Assembly Instructions.

Cost = 30,700,068.01

So without even including datacores the decryptor cost more than the stated invention cost.

Yeah, that tool tip isn't very helpful.

And of course, I had this beautiful reply and the forum ate it.

Short answer is you are seeing the invention cost for 1 run. If you type in the "End Runs" number when you select the decryptor, you'll see more what the full price is.

Note, the number is a bit low if you select a BPC cost from your tower. I found a bug when I went through your example and I'll get it patched tonight. Not a huge difference but significant.

BTW, your invention cost seems high unless you are using a 1 run BPC, which results in 4 runs. A full run BPC would get you 14.

Let me know if that makes sense.

New Update

Build 2.0.4421.31268

  • Entering no value in the Additional Costs box on the Blueprint screen will no longer crash the program
  • Users can now update prices for Hydrogen Batteries and Electronic Parts
  • Selecting Storyline BP's in the Blueprints Tab will no longer crash the program
  • Blueprints in the Blueprint Tab combo box will now update correctly when different Tech types are selected
  • BPC Cost estimations for invention were not being applied correctly resulting in a lower invention cost. This has been fixed.
  • Checking T2 or T3 items on the Manufacturing Tab will now enable or disable options for those two tech types

Zifrian,

Another feature request/suggestion. Double clicking on a raw material/component on the blueprints tab opens up the set price interface with the item filled in and ready to type in the new price. Or just a quick popup to set price. Price setting really feels "off" and a lot work, and because we're using data from market exports it's not always correct, it can take a good portion of time to set prices for an item you want to build.
