Hello guys, I'm a new player to this awesome and massive game, and i need some help.

My plan with this character is to train him to become a mission-runner/bounty-hunter, explorer aswell as train him in PvP skills. Is this a good career for my character? Also I have no clue what skills I should train for this.

Later, if I still enjoy the game as much as I do now I plan on training alts that I'll train in industry skills, So I want this Character to main combat.

Right now i train skills from a skill-plan I found on reddit:

  • Cybernetics III
  • Informorph Psychology III
  • Power Grid Management IV
  • CPU Management IV (+25% CPU)
  • Weapon Upgrades IV / Advanced Weapon Upgrades IV
  • Hull Upgrades IV
  • Mechanics IV
  • Shield Management IV
  • Shield Operation IV
  • Shield Upgrades IV
  • Tactical Shield Manipulation IV
  • Thermodynamics IV
  • Capacitor Management IV
  • Capacitor Systems Operation IV
  • Navigation IV
  • Evasive Maneuvering IV
  • Jury Rigging III
  • Target Management III
  • Signature Analysis IV
  • Long Range Targeting IV
  • Drones V
  • Scout Drone Operation V, Racial Drone Specialization I
  • Drone Interfacing IV

But what should I train after this? Also, should I train trading skills? Will they be usefull for me?

Thanks for all answers! Big smile

If you are doing missions, you should be training Social skills to increase your rewards and your standings faster. If you are selling loot on the market, skills that reduce your taxes are always helpful. If you are setting up buy or sell orders, than trading skills become more important.

Those skills are all pretty good.

As far as generic skills go I would add Evasive manoeuvres.

Other than that pick a ship/type of ship and start training into that along with things that support it (guns and the like). You also have to weig up training time vs reward.

You have a pretty good start.
I notice, the beginning of your thread, you say you want to stay mainly combat.
Then at the end you ask about trade skills.

It is important for you to focus as much as possible. So mainly combat related, then just some basics in trade and social.
This will work fine for your first several weeks.

I didn't see much weapons skills or ship skills in your plan.
A solid combat character will have a big portion of time in these areas.
Make sure the weapon SUPORT skills are getting trained. They are what make the weapons perform well.
As you mission and complete skills, you should be able to feel the improvements week by week.
A common practice is to get a lot of skills to 3 (average) then start upping them to IV's across the board, then V's.
I remember taking 1 skill a month to V, as a minimum goal.
