Setting up base in lowsec

Just wondering how to go about setting up a system to base out of, close to FW, semi close to a trade hub for a hauler alt, and isn't constantly camped?

I would have to second this, but just do your research you may find one or you may not. Get a feel for the people in an area you consider as some may not care about an astrahaus or a raitaru while others will see it as an act of war and do everything they can to burn all you own to the ground.

I'll be serious, don't pay attention to these trolls. I'll need your help for me to help you. Which side are you looking to be on for FW activities or are you looking to 3rd party any ongoing negotiations you find in space?

Thank you.. not sure what the deal is with all that but: I'm not really looking to actual participate, just mainly solo roams so which side doesn't entirely matter and I don't mind going through a few systems to reach the more populated areas.

Tama is perfect.

It's 4 jumps from Jita, active FW presence, and good agents 1 jump out in Nourv.

Only issue is the tourists.

You did ask a question in Crime & Punishment. If you wanted assistance without the flavor, you may have wanted to check in Warfare & Tactics.

Check DOTLAN to find areas that meet your requirements. It can be a bit tedious if you have a lot of requirements, but it's the best tool available. Cross-check with killboards and/or forum posts and you should be golden.

Ami is probably a good place to start. It's close to Amarr. Only a few HS jumps into Minny FW space. It's nearish the Eve Gate, so there is always some tourist traffic (you can actually pic up decent solo pvp there - like REAL solo pvp where there are only 2 guys in system). Not a lot of cyno hoo haw to deal with.


Huola is good for FW, but may be a bit busy for the solo guy. In the outback of Derelik you can find decent solo stuff, though occaisionally some Provi traffic will steam roll you.

Whatever you do, the map is your friend when living in LS. Keep an eye on activity in your area so you don't get caught with your panties down.

Keep in mind, anything close to a trade hub is most likely going to be crowded or at least a lot of traffic... If you are looking for a quiet place to rest your head after a long day of roaming, then you shouldn't look close to trade hubs.

But, if you want more content in the place you live, then go right ahead and move to Old Man Star

Honestly just find a good region on DOTLAN, and do some Intel gathering in a cepter or a covert ops and find out for your self if its the right area for you. Blink

Ami has recently seen more hot drops as New Group has moved into area. Still pretty quiet tho. There is Aldali 7j from Amarr. You can have it. We abandoned the place over year ago. Very quiet most of the time. For pvp Content you need to travel to providence via misaba. Watch out for Domain research and Mining as they hot drop along the route. ^^

Huola is a good area of space about 5 jumps from amarr and always going to have a decent FW ground to fight in.... And code doesn't hang out in Sarum prime.....yet.....

Surely a camped system would be ideal, saves time roaming for targets.
