How is Research time reduction calculated?

I have been looking for the way how the skills and EC reduce ME and TE times, but so far didnt get much answers except for a very old pdf with formulas.

My main issue is that with perfect skills (25% from main skill and 15% from Adv Industry), does it mean I get 40% reduction on the research time of Blueprints? Also how does the EC count into this? Do they add to the reduction? (15% for Raitaru, 20% for azbel and then the t1 / t2 rigs)

Would love to get some info on this. I cant plan anything with the current lack of info on this matter.

All bonuses in EvE are multiplicative (except for a really few strange non-industry ones I won't get into here).

Total bonus multiplier = (1 + bonus1) * (1 + bonus2) * (1 + bonus3) * ...

In the case of a reduction, the bonus is actually negative though it is displayed as positive.

Total bonus multiplier = (1 - bonus1) * (1 - bonus2) * (1 - bonus3) * ...

Example: Industry 5 and Advanced Industry 5
Total bonus multiplier = (1 - Industry Skill Level 5 * 4%) * (1 - Advanced Industry Skill Level 5 * 3%) = 0.68
In other words a 32% reduction.

Tyvm for your reply. I knew that the skills were multiplicative but was wondering how they will synchronize with EC with rigs.

Are they multiplicative as well? or do they add up in some other way?

That old pdf you're referring to I'm sure is this one from Eve-Industry.org. Everything there Is still 100% accurate. Just use his formula (it references the manufacturing time formula, so look at that as well). Basically just multiply everything that impacts research time together (including the EC bonuses). It's completely straightforward.

The EC have a base bonus, which the rigs multiply.

Skill and implants multiply that.
