...you were coming back to the game for the first time after nearly 5 years
...you didn't know anyone, weren't in a corp and didn't know what to do with yourself in-game
...you'd like to pvp but realize that "flying solo" all the time and pvp don't really jive all that well
...you don't know what to do with yourself in-game but would really like to get back into the game now that your ping is sub 500ms
...you don't know what to do with yourself in-game

There is no rush. You do not have to make a fast decision on this.

Play the game that you want to play, whether it's solo or corp oriented, and your needs will show themselves to you.

Then I would save those SP for LONG skills. Train levels 1 through 4 at regular time, then knock off some V's with free SP.

something off plan from your current map

drone, navigation, trade and fleet boosting usually fall in that category depending on what you plan on doing. but no rush yet if you dont know what youre planning yet

I still have all the SP from when CCP reimbursed the learning skills + the times CCP screwed up patches etc and handed out SP. 6.4 million in total sitting there. Never saw a need to just blow the SP especially when I wasn't 100% sure what to do.

Long skills, that is right.

And take your time and try everything you can do in EVE. What makes you want to login again? And again?
You are in no hurry.
Consider saving a few of these SP, do not spend all at once. You may need them at a later time, like
"Oh that is a nice shipto fly - now I need some spare SP!"

As others have said... start playing first. Figure out what stuff you're using a lot. Then maximize those skills.

For example... if you're running drone ships in PVE and find you are really liking sentry drones... perhaps blow some of them on drone interfacing V and sentry drone interfacing V rather than waiting 40+ days to get those skills from 4 to 5.

If you really want the extra passive income from having Command Centers and Interplanetary Consolidation maxed out in your PI... use the points there rather than waiting 40 days. Start down the path first. See if you like it. If you do... drop the points in it then.
