Issues, Workarounds & Localization

So i was trying to take some screenshots last night and discovered that when lazors streaked across my screen it auto dimmed. Then after i docked i noticed that if a bright add popped up on the board my screen dimmed as well.

I've only noticed this with Eve, and cannot seem to find any settings that would control this in either Eve or on my graphics card. Any help would be greatly appreciated as this is getting annoying

And what else does that disable?

What is the real benefit to this auto-dimming? And i've been in the game for a while and only recently seen it. And why is it lumped in with apparently all the dynamic lighting among many other things that make screenshots look nice that i haven't been able to check for yet...

As it stands it is very hard to take screenshots of an active grid because as soon as the parts that make it look really neat (weapons fire ect) are on screen, the whole screen gets very dark and all of a sudden the screen shot doesn't look so good anymore because everything is too dark.
