High Sec structure grinding

Just slowly getting interested in structure grinding... now that POSes are old fashioned.
I have time... and I have some friends that have time. I know that many mercs don't want to boringly grind structures down.

We transport and supply our ships ourselves.... just the ammo will need replacing!

If there is no resistance expected.......
If you are prepared to pay wardec costs...... and ammo costs (EHP based, Jita prices for the ships we fly).. then we are working "non-profit".
We are prepared to sit around pressing F1 until the Caldari Large Control Tower disappears.........
(Caveat - with ca 5000 dps the structure must be beatable from downtime to downtime)

if you are interested in having structures grinded, at cost, get in touch* before we get bored!

*EVE mail preferred... because ever since Dryson / Veers I stopped reading forums regularly.

As a former small-corp structure-basher, I appreciate seeing new outfits hit the scene. Rest assured that our kinds of corporations can still operate against the new structures, and in some ways will have an easier time against them.

If I may offer a friendly piece of advice: you will have a much easier time both logistically and effort-wise if you train your pilots to use lasers and/or drones. Less reloading, less volume needed for ammo, etc.

Good hunting.

thanks!

yeah... one of us just flies a gank cat without overheating.... so much resupplying I can't even comment!

But we have time, and ever since finding out about the T1 laser crystals not taking damage.... I am a convert! Just have to retrain.
As for the drones... my catalyst flying friend was sad that my flight of geckos were just as effective as he was!

With active POSes, we are at the moment happy with the possibilities of artillery with different damage types!

As I said above.... for wardec costs and ammo costs we will grind structures! write me an EVEmail!

True story, my corp's first dedicated POS shoot involved a pilot in a Procurer.

Towards the end of our active career, our platform of choice was a gank-fit laser/drone/torp Geddon. Quite handy. It was pretty much the most DPS you could squeeze out of a T1 hull with minimal reloads, and it had just enough range to hit small and medium towers with their shields up. (Most of our targets were offline, but not all of them.)

When we do bash structures anymore, we prefer to give up some DPS in favor of mobility and fly Oracles, VNIs, or Bombers instead.

The fixed damage type of lasers is kind of a drawback (unless you're operating in Amarr space like we were), but that will be going away as the new structures have balanced resists.

yeah those mad procurer pilots.... https://zkillboard.com/kill/60875669/

We are, at the moment, more interested in minimal reloads.... but that is probably only until this initiative gets off the ground.
I find the vulnerability windows of the new structures in high sec a bit... extreme.

I am highly interested in joining your corp to smash sandcastles. im +1 gmt tz so link up maybe hard to do.
#8 - 2017-04-07 20:56:57 UTC
Id also like to join. I used to do this a long time ago...it was profitable, but finding targets took work.
#9 - 2017-04-26 14:22:03 UTC
First of all, a thanks to Noragen for the fit suggestions. It will take (for some) a bit of training.... but anything is better than reloading every four minutes for https://zkillboard.com/kill/61664087/ a large control tower.

I would also like to thank the people that have messaged me in game with job offers. Replying to every EVEmail at the moment is stressful... so I am writing this here for all.

We finally managed to take down our first Astrahus (check zkillboard). I was genuinely surprised at how much ISK you get if you just hit the thing with a Salvager I. Completely worth it. There was a bit of trouble coordinating the Timer with our casual organisation and things like Family and Easter... and Fanfest...

We did however learn a lot from it. And it was... (once we got past the blaming phase) fun!

---

So.. for the people that want to join in the corporation and the fun... drop an App in game. We are EU_TZ and very casual at the moment... active in the Poinen-Ikami region of space. No promises of action or content... but you are welcome to come along. (Drop an Application to the corps.... (don't just send EVEmail.. maybe read www.minerbumping.com to understand my meta) and be prepared to wait a bit.... like I said.... unfortunately at the moment casual....)).

Astrahus and Raitaru seem to be no problem. We are not looking for permanent fees or funds at the moment. If you want a POS or Citadel taken out.... we ask for wardec fees for two corporations for two weeks (to enable timer coordination) and 15 Million ISK for Ammo (until we have trained lasers). So for normal targets for 215 million ISk we will grind the structure down*.

This is more fun than I imagined...

*at the moment we are just grinding.... in the face of active resistance (haha high sec carebears) we run and your ISK are forfeit.

Well there was more stuff than I could carry in one trip to the station... and I wasn't the only one looting.
But with what I got from the Salvage... the estimated raw value on the contract was 187 Millon ISK.
No idea how that translates in real Jita money.. I leave that up to my merchandising friends!

But anyway... more than I was thinking... and to think I nearly didn't bother!

EDIT: zkillboard says the Astrahus dropped 322 Million. The freighter that carries all the loot and all the salvage from the Astrahus (and only the loot and salvage from the Astrahus) shows 561 Million ISK in the EVE client for the estimated value of the inventory. Im never sure how zkillboard equates with reality.... I'll try to pay more attention with the next citadels.
Anyway... Salvaging pays a few bills.

Well I am glad to see that people are seeing there is value in doing this.

When the going gets tough the Gankers get their CSM rep to change mechanics in their favour.

For undefended structures, blap fit oracles are the best bang for your buck. We used them extensively until targets started to stack EM/thermal resists with radar jammers.

We switched to cruise ravens due to full damage at any range, select-able damage type, range outside warp disruption batteries, and one each mid/low utility slot for custom tower/defense fleet kicking flexibility.

Today I suspect a combined Weapon DPS + bonused drone doctrine with either spider tanking or x+2 logi per ECM and neut fitted to a structure would do the trick.

A properly fitted minmatar death star with pos gunners would two hit a battleship. Those towers were fun to take down. The killer today is not the nastiness of the structure but the three reinforcement timers. Very hard if you are a small group of grown ups with responsibilities.

Though for a larger group of adults with responsibilities, the 30 min cap is welcoming. Full resist stars were the bain of our existence.

True but I believe truly afk was posed and that thing is hard to match for true afk dps while factoring in cost

No real wrong answer for type of ship or fittings for structure bashing. Depends on the risk versus the reward. The OP has a nice group of ships for his mission.

If there was a chance of ambush I would use torpedo frigates, or Talos with Cloak and one Inertial Stab. (Anything larger than a Battle Cruiser is too slow to fleet warp to a safety.)

My alts have killed over 100 Poco's and plenty of sticks. Very lucrative business if you sell them rather than keep them.

When starting out on two accounts I would leave two Oracles going thru the night. Moved up to Navy Geddons until I got two killed. Took the sale of five good Poco's to replace. ( risk vs reward )

Eventually with five accounts and five polarised Talos you can achieve just shy of 10k dps, dropping a Poco armour/structure in less than 10 min. Good iskies for very little time, if you don't have to share the spoils with a crew.

If it's about cost then the Oracle can't be beat, 8 t2 guns with t1 ammo you can just afk forever.
