Niddy or Archon for Armor User

Hello people of the forums, i have a question about carriers.

As an armor specialist with perfect 5's i have decided to check out carriers, so i'm looking into the best armor carrier. I'm not gonna go for a super carrier so it seems either Archon or Nidhoggur would be the obvious choices.

Most of the available info seems to predate some sort of buff / nerf session that affected carriers. It seems the Niddy used to be frowned upon but apparently now is more acceptable. Archon was always the go to for armor heads but apparently now the Niddy is a legitimate armor option judging by the very few posts i could dig up on reddit.

For info i don't tend to do much fleet stuff so i'm really looking for the best solo / small gang hull, with emphasis on tank / attack rather than purely logistics.

Thanks guys Pirate

One quick side point. Carriers are no longer logistics ships at all. About a year ago (I think), Carrier's roles were split, carriers are now damage ships using fighter squadrons, and the capital logistics ship is the Fleet Auxiliary (FAX)

solo/small gang: you want delete someone as fast as possible and then GTFO basically.
in this case thanatos (armor) or nidhoggur (shield)
imo doesn't make sense fitting a nidhoggur armor tanked... you lose all the dps to one-two-three shot everything...

in case you confused yourself between a nid and a thanatos:
between thanatos and archon always for solo/small gang thanny is better with +1 mid and more dps.

basically just look at their bonus :) your choice will be pretty easy
